ABB Totalflow X series differential pressure flow computer

Product Overview

Product positioning: XSeries is divided into two product lines: XFC extended flow computer and XRC remote controller. This article focuses on three models of XFC dedicated to differential pressure measurement, which are equipped with XIMV integrated multivariable transmitters. A single unit can collect three sets of process parameters: differential pressure DP, static pressure SP, and medium temperature TF, and is compatible with various flow meters such as orifice plates, V-cones, turbines, and ultrasound for trade measurement.

Application scenarios: Unmanned metering stations in oil and gas fields and pipeline fields, supporting trade handover (compliant with API21.1), capable of single/multiple pipeline metering, powered by solar energy and battery DC low power consumption.

Configuration features: XIMV factory completes calibration, parameters are solidified in non-volatile memory, and the whole machine is customized according to needs before leaving the factory; The upper level adopts * * PCCU32 (Windows 32-bit) * * software configuration, calibration and debugging.


Differences in hardware configuration compared to the three models

1. Basic standard IO (unified across all models)

Comes with: 2 channels of 0-5V analog input, 2 channels of digital output, and 2 channels of configurable status input (DI/pulse cumulative PI multiplexing); Standard configuration includes 1 local debugging port and 2 modular communication ports (RS232/RS485 optional, with a maximum baud rate of 19.2k).

Hardware differences between two models

XFC6410 cannot be equipped with IO module 26AH, approximately 6.13kg

XFC6413 up to 3 TFIO 26AH, approximately 6.8kg

3 TFIO expansion modules (modular hardware expansion)

Select IO cards as needed, the device automatically recognizes hardware and completes configuration. Optional modules include: 8-channel AI, 4-channel AO, 8-channel binary DI/DO/PI, 4-channel RTD, 4-channel thermocouple, valve control module, and multi protocol communication module (RS232/422/485).

4. Overall hardware architecture (taking XFC6413 as an example)

FC195 main control board+communication compartment+battery compartment+TFIO expansion slot+XIMV multivariable sensing unit; FC195 motherboard parameters:

Power supply: nominal 12VDC, supports 16-18VDC/solar charging;

Storage: 512K SR (lithium battery backup)+E2PROM (sensor calibration)+512K Flash program;

Peripherals: dedicated LCD screen, button interface, I2C expansion bus, dual level hardware password lock; Clock accuracy ± 7.5ppm.

5 XIMV integrated multivariable sensor core parameters (whole machine measurement core)

Measurement items: differential pressure DP, static pressure SP, medium temperature

DP/SP accuracy: ± 0.05% FS of range, ± 0.1% URL of annual stability, 71 ℃ temperature drift ≤ ± 0.15% FS;

Temperature measurement: -62~110 ℃, accuracy ± 0.56 ℃, standard 100 Ω platinum RTD, built-in automatic calibration;

AD conversion: nominal 16 bit, maximum 18 bit resolution; Anti vibration and installation tilt errors can be corrected by software.

Working temperature range: operation -29~60 ℃, storage -40~85 ℃.

6 Structure and environmental parameters

Shell: spray aluminum protective shell, wall mounted/pipe mounted/direct three installation methods;

Environment: Working -40 ℃~+85 ℃, humidity 0~95%, no condensation;

Explosion proof: CSA/NRTL Class I Zone 2 C/D group explosion-proof, ATEX Zone 2 pending certification;

EMC: Meets various RF anti-interference and transmission standards of EU EN, US FCC, ICES;

Electrical protection: reverse connection protection, surge/EMI filtering, PTC self recovery fuse, hot swappable protection, with a minimum power consumption of less than 100mW (8mA) for the entire machine.

Software modular design

Adopting an object-oriented modular architecture, software applications can be repeatedly instantiated on a single device, supporting parallel measurement of multiple pipelines, and built-in with a large number of standard measurement/control firmware:

Flow measurement category: AGA3/ISO5167 orifice plate, V-cone, AGA7 turbine/rotor, ultrasonic flow calculation method, compression coefficient NX19/AGA8 Gross/Detail calculation, in compliance with AGA3-85/92, AGA5 oil and gas measurement standards, and API21.1 trade handover specifications.

Functional applications: real-time trend recording, valve closed-loop control, alarm event RAMS, custom calculation, IEC61131 advanced logic, tank metering, calorific value master-slave accounting, and free switching of engineering units.

Communication Protocol: Native Totalflow low-power protocol, Modbus RTU/ASCII (master-slave), Enron Modbus, Square-D, Btu8000 and other protocols, supporting user-defined Modbus register mapping.


Core functions of the product

Data storage: default storage of 45 days/hour/day cumulative data and 200 event records, with user-defined storage duration; Power outages rely on onboard lithium batteries to maintain real-time clocks.

Alarm management: upper and lower limit monitoring, programmable filtering, abnormal event reporting.

Measurement guarantee: XIMV calibration maintains flow data, DP zero point programmable cutoff, temperature and pressure full compensation integration.

Security management: Double layer password permission protection to prevent parameter and measurement data tampering.

Power supply plan: Standard lead-acid battery, solar/external AC/DC charging options, suitable for outdoor scenarios without mains power.


Application and supporting facilities

The device can have a local optional display screen and operation buttons, and can be remotely networked through various buses; If you need to expand IO and communication, purchase the corresponding TF module.
