ADLINK 6208/6216-GL series analog output card

Product Introduction (Hardware Specifications, Models, Interfaces)

1. All models of the product line

Divided into three categories according to the bus, all 16 bit voltage analog outputs, hardware/registers/software backward compatible with the old version 6208V/6216V:

PCI standard models: PCI-6208V-GL (8-way AO), PCI-6216V-GL (16 way AO), 32-bit 3.3V/5V PCI plug and play;

PCIe version: PCIe-6208V/6216V-GL, x1 PCIe bus;

CompactPCI 3U industrial control model:

CPCI-6208V-GL/cPCI-6216V-GL: front 37 pin IO;

CPCI-6208V/R-GL/cPCI-6216V/R-GL: rear backplane IO, matched with cPCI-R6216DB rear adapter board.

2. Core hardware performance indicators

(1) Simulate output of AO core parameters

Channel: 6208=8 independent DACs; 6216=16 independent DACs, each channel updated independently;

Resolution: 16 bits, ensuring effective accuracy of 15 bits; Output range ± 10VDC;

Conversion characteristics: slew rate of 25V/μ s, full-scale establishment time of 130 μ s; Differential nonlinearity ± 1.5LSB, integral nonlinearity ± 2.5LSB;

Error (25 ℃): gain error 0.0025% FS, offset error 0.0005% FS;

Drive capability: maximum ± 5mA per channel; default output of 0V for all channels during power on/reset; transmission mode is program IO;

(2) Onboard digital IO (TTL level)

Fixed 4-channel DI+4-channel DO, used for linkage switch and external triggering:

DI: Low 0~0.8V, high 2.0~5.5V;

DO: maximum injection current of 8mA, pulling current of 0.4mA;

(3) General Environmental and Electrical Specifications

Temperature and humidity: working at 0-50 ℃, storage at -20~80 ℃, humidity at 5-95% without condensation;

Interface: Unified 37 pin D-Sub female port;

Power consumption (typical value): The power consumption of the 16 channel model is much higher than that of the 8-channel model, PCI-6216V-GL:+5V 1A、+12V 280mA;

Vn: nth analog output; A. GND: Analog ground (all analog grounds are connected together);

Hardware installation steps (anti-static+PCI/cPCI process)

1. Pre installed anti-static mandatory regulations

The board is sensitive to static electricity, and must be operated with a grounded anti-static pad and an anti-static wristband; Only hold the edge of the board and do not touch the components; Damage is strictly prohibited from being powered on.

2. Packing standard list

DA board, accompanying CD, paper manual; The R-version cPCI model comes with an additional rear IO backplane; Contact the dealer immediately if the received goods are damaged.

3. Software installation sequence

Insert Linghua Integrated CD;

Choose one to install driver: New generation DAQPilot (recommended)/Old PCIS-DASK compatible driver;

Install DAQMaster device management tool to identify hardware.

4. Hardware installation process

PCI desktop board

Power off the entire machine and release static electricity from the human body;

Select the white 32-bit PCI slot, smoothly insert and secure the baffle screw;

CompactPCI industrial control chassis board

Turn off the power of the chassis;

Remove the slot baffle and insert the card for locking; The R model is equipped with an additional rear IO adapter backplane.

Compatible with old projects: PCIS-DASK kernel driver

32-bit. sys low-level driver, supports 64 bit system WOW64 compatibility layer, Vista digital signature; Official new projects are not recommended for use, only legacy programs are compatible.

2. Linux driver

DASK/X series cross platform driver, API consistent with Windows DASK, compatible with PCI/cPCI/PXI capture cards, available for download from the official website.

3. Complete adaptation of third-party software

MATLAB (DAQ-MTTLB): an official collaboration plugin of MathWorks, which directly calls Linghua hardware and supports high-speed digitizers;

LabVIEW (DAQ-LabVIEW PnP): compatible with NI standard DAQ VI library, providing AO/AI/DIO/counter tool panel, compatible with LV6.5~8.5;

Agilent VEE (PCIS-VEE): Visual process programming interface, compatible with VEE4.5;

ActiveX Control (DAQBench/PCIS-OCX): Targeting VB/VC/SCADA upper computers, it provides trend, alarm, and OPC docking components.


Bottom level hardware registers (specifically designed for low-level development)

1. PCI three-layer register architecture

PCR (PCI Configuration Register): BIOS allocates interrupts and IO base addresses;

LCR (Local Register): The underlying parameters of the PLX9052 chip do not require any operation for regular development;

6208/6216 dedicated IO register, all 16 bit access.

2. IO address mapping (base address offset)

AO output registers: 0x00, 0x02... Each 2 bytes corresponds to 1 DAC; 6208 is only valid for channels 0-7, while 6216 extends to V15;

AO status register (offset 0x00 read-only): D0=Data_Send bit, set high during DAC serial transmission, must wait for this bit to become low before writing the next set of voltage values (fixed 2.2 μ s per transmission);

DO register (offset 0x40 write): Low 4 bits control DO0~DO3;

DI register (offset 0x40 read): The high 4 bits read DI0~DI3, and the low 4 bits read back the DO output status.

3. DA digital quantity → voltage conversion rule

16 bit signed encoding, unipolar mapping ± 10V:

0x8000 = -32768 → -10.0000V

0x0000 = 0 → 0V

0x7FFF = +32767 → +9.99969V


Board testing and calibration tools

1. DOS version 6208UTIL tool

The CD comes with built-in DOS graphics tools and two core functions:

Functional testing (F2): Single channel voltage output verification, up and down keys for 0.5V step adjustment, real-time reading of output values; Distinguish between testing modes for models 6208/6216;

Hardware calibration (F1): Factory calibration process.

2. Factory calibration mechanism

Calibration equipment: 6-and-a-half-digit high-precision digital multimeter DMM;

Process: Traverse all 16 bit encoded outputs, collect real voltage to generate compensation table and store it in onboard Flash;

Function: Automatically correct gain and offset errors, optimize linearity;

Maintenance suggestion: recalibrate every year and contact the manufacturer's after-sales service for operation.


Chapter on Safety Regulations

Installation/maintenance must be completely powered off; Stay away from liquids and high temperatures, ensure ventilation;
