Product Overview
1.1 Product positioning
PCIe x4 bus industrial vision dedicated network card, integrated with 4 independent Gigabit PoE ports, designed specifically for GigE Vision industrial cameras. A single Ethernet cable can simultaneously transmit image data and power the camera, supporting precise synchronization of multiple cameras with IEEE1588, greatly simplifying the wiring of machine vision control cabinets.
1.2 Core functional characteristics
1. PoE power supply standard: fully compatible with IEEE802.3af, with a maximum output of 15.4W and 44~48V per channel, supporting automatic identification and graded detection of PD devices in categories 0~4; Single channel short circuit and overcurrent hardware protection.
2. Network transmission capability
-4-channel independent Intel 82574L Gigabit MAC/PHY, 10/100/1000M adaptive;
-Support 9KB jumbo frames and link aggregation LACP, doubling the bandwidth after aggregation;
-PCIe v1.1 x4 bus, 2.5GT/s bandwidth, meets the packet loss free transmission of multiple high-definition cameras.
3. Multi camera synchronization: Built in IEEE1588 precision clock protocol, unified timestamp synchronization capture for multiple cards/cameras.
4. Software controlled PoE: Equipped with SmartPoe API, the program remotely switches PoE power supply to each channel without the need to plug or unplug network cables.
5. Two power supply modes
-Light load: The total PoE power of the four channels is less than 20W, powered solely by PCIe slots, without the need for an external 12V power supply;
-Overload: If the total power is greater than 20W, an external 12V 7A auxiliary power supply must be connected to prevent the motherboard PCIe from being overloaded and burned out.
1.3 Typical application scenarios
Machine vision online detection, scientific research imaging equipment, medical image acquisition equipment.

1.5 Definition of Board I/O, Indicator Lights, and Dialing
(1) Hardware partitioning (board layout)
A: PCIe gold finger slot; B: 4 RJ45 network ports; C: PoE power supply status yellow light; D: 12V external power terminal
(2) RJ45 Ethernet port pin
8-core network port integrated data differential+PoE 48V power supply circuit, 1/2/4/5 as 48V positive pole, 3/6/7/8 as power ground, compatible with standard CAT5 network cable.
(3) Front PoE status light
4 yellow indicator lights, corresponding to Port1~Port4 one by one: the lights are always on=the PoE power supply for this channel is turned on; Off=PoE turned off/no camera connected.
(4) External 12V power terminal (4Pin)
Pin 1=+12V, Pin 2/3=GND, Pin 4=empty pin; When the total power is fully loaded with four cameras, wiring must be connected.
(5) Card ID dip switch S1
Onboard 4-digit DIP dialing is used to distinguish card numbers (16 unique IDs from 0 to 15) in multi card industrial control systems. The software can read the numbers to distinguish multiple GIE64+acquisition cards.
(6) Onboard bottom layer data flow indicator lights (9 in total)
1-4: Network downstream channel, flashing=data normal, normally off=channel failure;
Number 5-8: Upward channel, constantly on/flashing normally;
Global fault light No. 9: Constant light indicates abnormal PCIe switch chip and hardware failure.

Quick Installation Guide
2.1 Open box inspection
The standard packaging includes GIE64+board and paper user manual; Before receiving the goods, check for transportation damage and contact the dealer for missing accessories. Keep the packaging for repair.
2.2 Hardware installation steps
1. Power off the entire industrial computer, open the chassis, and leave PCIe x4/x8/x16 slots vacant;
2. Remove the baffle, insert the board smoothly and lock the fixing screws;
When the total power consumption of the four-way camera is greater than 20W, it is necessary to connect the rear 12V auxiliary power cord;
4. Connect the CAT5 Ethernet cable to the RJ45 port and connect the GigE camera;
5. Power on and go to the Intel official website to download the 82574L Ethernet driver;
6. Install the Linghua Visual Function Library and call the SmartPoe API to control PoE on/off.
2.3 Safety Operation Standards
1. Before plugging or unplugging the board and wiring, the entire machine must be powered off to prevent static electricity from penetrating the network port PHY chip;
2. It is prohibited to block the ventilation of the board's heat sink to avoid high temperature deceleration and packet loss;
3. Only use the original factory compatible 12V power cord and prohibit power input exceeding 7A;
4. The board is equipped with a backup lithium battery, and there is a risk of explosion if the model is replaced incorrectly. Only authorized engineers are authorized to repair it;
5. In case of wire damage, water ingress, or abnormal indicator lights, immediately power off and send for repair.
Advanced Configuration and Optimization Techniques
Jumbo Frame
Enabling method: In the Intel PROSet advanced settings, set the "Jumbo Packet" to 9014 bytes.
Requirement: All network ports, switches, and cameras support macro frames, otherwise communication may fail or performance may decrease.
Disruption of Affinity
In multi-core CPU systems, interrupts from different ports can be bound to different CPU cores to enhance parallel processing capabilities (through task managers or SetIrqAffinity tools).
Power Management
If using an external 12V power supply, ensure that the power ripple is less than 100mVpp to avoid affecting PoE stability.
Wire gauge recommendation: AWG 18 or thicker, with a length less than 1 meter to reduce pressure drop.
Maintenance and long-term reliability
Regularly check the fan/heat dissipation: GIE64+passive heat dissipation, maintain good airflow inside the chassis, and the temperature should not exceed 55 ° C.
Firmware update: Follow the ADLINK official website to update PCIe firmware and 82574L EEPROM configuration (which may correct PTP or power consumption issues).
Static protection: Wear an anti-static wristband during operation to avoid touching gold fingers.
Backup configuration: If using link aggregation or static IP, record the configuration for quick reconstruction.
