Alcatel Lucent 9500 MPR Release 3 ANSI Microwave Packet Radio Equipment

9500 MPR (Microwave Packet Radio) is a unified hardware platform microwave transmission product from Alcatel Lucent. It has native packet processing and is fully compatible with TDM circuit services, enabling smooth migration from traditional TDM networks to all IP networks. It is aimed at operators and private network users, reducing CAPEX and OPEX. IDU indoor units: MSS-8 (2RU), MSS-4 (1RU), MSS-1c (1RU, half rack width). The intelligent node IDU can access up to 12 RF transceivers and supports mixed mode/pure packet mode.

ODU outdoor unit: Multipurpose Outdoor Unit, outdoor RF unit.

MPT-HL indoor microwave processing unit.

RF connection: IDU can connect up to 12 NSBs or 6 MHSBs; It is possible to mix ODU and MPT-HL.

Hitless switching service driven adaptive modulation dynamically adjusts the modulation method based on wireless channel quality.

Built in MEF 8 standard CES circuit simulation, carrying TDM services on carrier Ethernet.

Support millimeter wave frequency band; Multi service switching capacity base>16Gbps, with a maximum of 48Gbps achieved with the installation of EAS cards.

XPIC can be upgraded to increase single frequency throughput capacity; Wireless link throughput can exceed 4Gbps; Terminate up to 192 DS1s and support DS3 interface.

Link layer OAM: IEEE 802.1ag; Synchronization scheme: SyncE+SSM, IEEE1588v2 PTP; Support NNI and UNI interface LACP link aggregation.

ITU-T G.8032 multi service packet ring, realizing ring network protection switching.

Protecting investments and smoothly migrating TDM to IP: the same hardware can run in hybrid (Ethernet+PDH) or pure packet mode; Compatible with old version hybrid mode ODU. RF frequency band and data sheet description

The supported RF frequency bands include: 5.8GHz unlicensed frequency band, 6GHz, 7/8GHz, 11GHz, 15GHz, 18GHz, 23GHz, and 38GHz. The manual contains a large number of RF tables:

MPT-HL static modulation; MPT-HL adaptive modulation;

MPT-HC static modulation, MPT-HC adaptive modulation, MPT-HC XPIC cross polarization mode;

ODU300 static modulation and ODU300 adaptive modulation.

The table shows the second layer wireless throughput, transmission power (dBm), BER=1e-6 reception threshold, and system gain for different channel bandwidths (5/10/30/40/50 MHz) and QAM modulation orders.

Annotation points:

The table shows typical values; Ensure that the indicators require a transmission power of -2dB and a reception threshold of+2dB;

Not all modulation/frequency band combinations are available in the current Release 3 software version;

The 5.8GHz MPT-HC version had not yet completed FCC Part 15 certification and could not be sold for deployment.
