Product Overview

MDR-8000 is the flagship point-to-point digital microwave equipment of the company, covering the mainstream frequency band of 2-11GHz and balancing high-capacity backbone links and low capacity branch links.

Transmission capability: Supports 2-32 DS1s, 1-3 DS3, OC-3, 10/100/1000 Base-T Ethernet interfaces; By replacing the Capacity Keys ™ Capacity key can be used to expand business online without interrupting services, avoiding investment waste.

Unified public hardware platform: All models with different frequency bands and capacities share the hardware platform, reducing spare parts inventory and personnel training costs.

Target customers: cellular operators, public safety agencies, railways, pipelines, electricity, local exchange operators, broadcasting and television, government agencies, and various enterprises.


Core Features and Business Advantages

1. Reliability and link protection

It has multiple protection architectures: non standby, hot backup, spatial diversity, frequency diversity, and quad diversity (spatial+frequency diversity), achieving high link availability for harsh transmission paths such as ultra long and cross water areas. It can be paired with smaller antennas to achieve longer transmission distances.

Forward error correction FEC, high system gain, high dispersion fading margin DFM, industry-leading ability to resist multipath fading.

High neighbor channel interference suppression capability, suitable for use in spectrum crowded frequency bands.

2. Frequency band capability: licensed frequency band+unlicensed frequency band

Licensed frequency bands: covering FCC Part 101/74 and NTIA government regulated frequency bands in North America, including rich frequency bands such as 1.7GHz, 1.9GHz, and 2-11GHz.

License free frequency band: 2.4GHz, 5.8GHz ISM frequency band; Adopting narrowband single carrier modulation, different from spread spectrum unlicensed microwaves, it has higher transmission power, stronger anti-interference ability, and better spectrum utilization.

5.8GHz single channel maximum 150Mb/s; 2.4GHz license free mode up to 16 x DS1 or 24Mb/s Ethernet.

5.8GHz devices can be upgraded to 6GHz licensed frequency band devices through simple hardware replacement, protecting existing investments; 5.8GHz can also be used as an overlay layer for existing 6GHz links to add Ethernet services.

MDR-8000 Lite: Lightweight license free version, no hot backup, capacity of 8 × DS1, transmission power+25dBm, suitable for low capacity links and backup links.

3. Cost reduction related designs

Low power consumption: The power consumption is about 1/3 lower than competitors, reducing the configuration of DC power supply, battery, and air conditioning, and lowering equipment procurement and monthly cooling expenses; Mainly relying on passive heat dissipation, most configurations do not require fans.

Compact volume

Standard hot backup rack: 7RU; a single 19 inch rack can deploy up to 4 sets of hot backup devices, with a total capacity of 12 × DS3.

Compact (unprotected): Only 4RU; supports indoor installation, can also be deployed outdoors on poles/walls, without the need for tower mounted electronic units, reducing high-altitude maintenance.

4. Modulation and anti-interference technology

Modulation methods: 32-TCM, 128-TCM, 64-QAM, can be selected as needed: 128TCM maximizes spectral efficiency; 32TCM achieves higher system gain and longer transmission distance.

All digital receiving filtering, excellent adjacent channel suppression; Support ATPC automatic transmission power control: dynamically adjust the transmission power by dB based on the remote received signal level, only increase the power when fading occurs, in compliance with FCC power control, and reduce interference to other devices on the same frequency.

5. Wayside DS1 bypass DS1 business

For every DS3 configured, a bypass DS1 with hot backup protection is provided; 3 x DS3/OC-3 provides 3 bypass DS1s. Can be used for service lines, data channels LAN/WAN, It does not occupy the main business bandwidth and can carry critical business.
