Product Overview and Core Working Principles
CBS 212A is a specialized excitation auxiliary enhancement device for brushless generators, which relies on two power current transformers CT on the generator output side to provide enhanced excitation current for the generator excitation winding;
Trigger condition: When the voltage at the generator terminal drops to the point where normal excitation current cannot be maintained, it will automatically start working, mainly for two scenarios:
Motor startup impact load;
Generator output short circuit fault, quickly raise excitation, support system voltage, and ensure reliable fault removal.
Core functional features
Instantaneous response to short-circuit faults, with no delay in applying strong excitation;
Short term maximum excitation output DC 20A, continuous output for 10 seconds;
Automatically activated only when the generator voltage is too low, without intervention under normal operating conditions;
Suitable for 50Hz/60Hz brushless synchronous generators;
The upper limit of the excitation forced output voltage can be adjusted through jumper wires;
Covering multiple power levels of generator sets, suitable for a wide range of applications.

2. Voltage sampling circuit
Rated sampling voltage: 120Vac/240Vac (choose one jumper);
Adaptation frequency: 50/60Hz; Sampling circuit load: 10 VA;
Range of action voltage regulation:
120V sampling: 70~131 Vac;
240V sampling: 140~262 Vac;
Fallback difference: When sampling at 120V, reset to 5V higher than the action value; When sampling at 240V, reset to 10V higher than the action value.
3. Matching CT Requirements and Selection Table
Mandatory requirement: A single CBS 212A must be paired with two CT scanners of the same specifications for use;
CT is divided into two voltage series: low voltage systems of 600V and below, and medium high voltage systems of 15kV and below;
Variable ratio coverage of 1:8~1:277, suitable for three-phase short-circuit current of 125A~8000A;
The marked model is a prefabricated primary winding without a through window;
The table clearly lists the CT part number, transformation ratio, suitable short-circuit current, and system rated voltage.
4. Input overload tolerance
The CT side is taken from the short-circuit current of the generator output line and can withstand 300% of the rated short-circuit current impact.

Typical wiring scheme
Figure 1 of the document shows the standard application wiring:
Two CTs (CT1, CT2) are connected to the outgoing lines of the A/B/C three-phase generators;
CT secondary side connected to CBS 212A for energy harvesting;
CBS outputs F+and F - connected to the excitation winding of the generator;
P. The N terminal is connected to the voltage regulator AVR sampling circuit, and the linked voltage regulation system works together.
