1. Excitation DC output capability

Built in two core protections/functions
1. Frequency compensation (V/Hz low frequency limit)
Function: Suppress voltage rise when the unit slows down, improve sudden load performance, and avoid low-frequency overcurrent.
Factory default 50Hz inflection point 45Hz;
The 60Hz unit only needs to cut off the external HZ jumper, switch the inflection point to 55Hz, and cut off the wire end to ensure insulation;
The matching frequency compensation characteristic curve shows that the voltage decreases linearly with frequency.
2 Overexcitation shutdown protection
When the excitation DC exceeds the limit, the excitation output is cut off with a delay that is inversely proportional to the amplitude of the overvoltage
95V ± 5V range: inverse time delay, the higher the voltage, the faster the trip;
If it exceeds 140V ± 5V, immediately cut off the excitation within 0.2 seconds;
Reset method: Reduce the input voltage to below 6Vac, stop the prime mover or disconnect the power supply of the voltage regulator for at least 2 seconds to automatically reset.
4 residual voltage excitation
Built in solid-state excitation circuit, the generator can independently build voltage with only 6Vac residual voltage; When the residual voltage is insufficient, an external DC excitation is required.

Installation and wiring specifications
1. Installation opening
Provide two types of hole sizes (label facing up/down installation direction), reserve two Φ 9.8 installation holes, and provide the overall dimensions drawing of the machine.
2 4 standard wiring schemes
Covering different generator wiring forms:
Three phase four wire 208/240Vac unit;
Single phase 120/240Vac with neutral;
Three phase three wire 240Vac unit;
Single phase 120Vac without neutral;
Key wiring points
F+and F - strictly correspond to the positive and negative poles of the excitation machine winding;
The input front-end must be equipped with a 250V 5A high breaking fuse;
Sampling and power supply shared terminals 3 and 4;
Remote voltage regulation modification: Cut off the onboard VAR jumper and connect an external 1k Ω 1/2W potentiometer.
Adjustable knob on the panel
Two straight screwdriver adjustment potentiometers for the whole machine:
VOL voltage regulation: clockwise boost; Can replace external remote potentiometer;
STAB stable adjustment: clockwise → damping increases, overshoot decreases, response slows down; Counter clockwise → fast response and large voltage fluctuations.
Complete operational process
1. Preparation before startup
Verify the excitation winding resistance of 15-100 Ω;
Check all wiring and fuses;
The local voltage knob is completely counterclockwise (lowest), and the remote potentiometer is adjusted to the middle.
Unit 2 startup
Raise the rated speed and rely on residual voltage to independently build pressure;
Slowly adjust the voltage clockwise to the rated value;
Stability of load observation, coupled with the use of the TAB knob to eliminate oscillations.
3. Insufficient residual voltage excitation operation (Field Flashing)
When the unit is stationary, connect a 3-5 Ω current limiting resistor in series with a ≤ 12V DC power supply, and connect F+/F - for a short period of time (3 seconds); After starting, test the voltage of terminals 3 and 4 to be ≥ 6Vac to establish normal voltage. If it fails multiple times, it is determined that the AVR is damaged.
Offline bench testing method
120Vac 50/60Hz power supply, incandescent lamp simulated excitation load;
Turn the voltage knob counterclockwise to turn on the power, and the light bulb will flash briefly;
Slowly adjust clockwise, the brightness of the bulb changes smoothly, and a small adjustment at the critical point can turn on and off the bulb, indicating that the voltage regulation function is normal.
