Product basic information

1. Manufacturer and positioning

Beckwith Electric (Hubbell) M-0193B solid-state automatic synchronization device, the core function is to detect the voltage and frequency difference between the generator/line and bus on both sides of the circuit breaker, accurately predict the zero crossing point, issue the closing command in advance, and achieve synchronous grid connection; Suitable for generator grid connection switches and system interconnection switches, taking into account power plant generator sets and grid interconnection scenarios. It is equipped with M-0194 speed and voltage regulation controller and M-3410A/M-0188 synchronous verification relay to form a complete grid connection system.

2. Core values

Accurately compensating for the inherent closing time of the circuit breaker, closing with zero phase difference under the premise of qualified voltage and frequency difference, significantly reducing grid connected surge current, and protecting the generator and main transformer; Provide safety functions such as multiple locking, anti reverse power generation, anti multiple closing, and manual collaborative windows.

Extreme resolution: Reliable identification of 0.0005Hz frequency difference, typical equipment can reach 0.0001Hz;

Prediction of Closing Time

The backplane terminal can be programmed with a total closing time of 20-800ms for the circuit breaker; The set value needs to be superimposed with a 20ms delay for the internal relay of the device to engage;

Closing phase error: It increases linearly with frequency difference and closing time. The phase error of the 80ms circuit breaker is less than 0.6 ° at 0.5Hz and less than 1.5 ° at 800ms.

Adjustable knob and status LED on the front panel

1. Four channel voltage setting knob

BUS upper/lower limit voltage, GEN/LINE upper/lower limit voltage: set the allowable voltage range of the busbar and generator respectively, and lock the circuit breaker when it exceeds the tolerance;

2. ∆ V and ∆ F adjustment knobs

Limit the maximum allowable voltage difference and frequency difference separately. When exceeding the standard, the "∆ V OK/∆ F OK" light will turn off and closing is prohibited;

3. Status indicator light (lights up when all conditions are met)

BUS voltage upper limit qualified, BUS voltage lower limit qualified, GEN/LINE upper and lower limits qualified, voltage difference OK, frequency difference OK, whole machine READY ready light; All lights are on to meet the conditions for closing.


Core optional security function module

1. Anti Motoring

Default off, internal dialing enabled;

After activation: Only when the generator frequency is greater than the system frequency (generator fast), can it be closed to prevent the generator from becoming an electric motor and absorbing reverse power after grid connection, protect the turbine blades, and avoid misoperation of reverse power protection;

Close: Both positive and negative slip can be synchronized, reducing the risk of the unit waiting for grid connected temperature rise.

2. Anti Pump

Optional function: The closing output only lasts for 0.5 seconds. After completing one closing, the power must be disconnected for about 10 seconds to reset before closing again;

No such option: Every time the slip crosses the zero point and the conditions are met, the closing command will be repeatedly issued, which can easily cause the circuit breaker to repeatedly close.

3. Operator Window for Manual Collaborative Operations

Allow operators to manually close the contacts and connect them in series with the device logic; The operator must close the operation switch within the adjustable time window (0.2~6.2s) and adjustable phase window (0~30 °/0~180 °, distinguished by frequency difference gear) before the device outputs closing; Lock directly beyond the window and wait for the next slip cycle to retry; Internal potentiometers R160 (phase) and R148 (time) are set, and calculation formulas are provided to assist in on-site settings.

4. M-0194 compatible selection

If you need to link the M-0194 generator speed and voltage regulation controller, you must order this option to adapt to the voltage regulation/acceleration/deceleration pulse output logic.

5. 50Hz power grid version

Standard 60Hz, overseas power grids can choose 50Hz hardware.


Circuit breaker closing time programming logic (backplane TB1 terminal)

Basic gear: TB1-20 common terminal connected to terminals 7-16, corresponding to 20/40/60/80/100/120/140/160/200ms;

Long circuit breaker multiplier terminal (used for>200ms): TB1-5 are respectively connected to 17 (× 2), 18 (× 3), and 19 (× 4) to amplify the total delay;

Multi circuit breaker scheme: Install gold-plated small auxiliary relays, switch different time configurations by switch contacts, and require short shielded twisted pair (<2 feet) wiring;

Key rule: Set value=actual mechanical closing time of circuit breaker+20ms device relay closing delay.


Two typical system matching schemes

Plan 1: M-0193B+M-3410A synchronous verification relay

Double locking: M-0193B predicts zero crossing closing, M-3410A performs maximum phase hard limit to prevent large angle grid connection, and two sets of closing contacts are connected in series to significantly reduce the probability of false closing.

Scheme 2: M-0193B+M-0188 synchronous verification relay

Simplify the verification circuit, suitable for small and medium-sized units. M-0188 is equipped with a phase locking window and connected in series with the device logic to output closing.

Auxiliary supporting M-0194 controller

Automatically output acceleration, voltage reduction/boost pulses before synchronization, pulling the generator voltage and frequency to the synchronization range, simplifying operator adjustment.

Self inspection, reliability and safety standards

The whole machine is continuously self checked in the background after being powered on, and the absence of connectors on a single PCB reduces the number of fault points;

The output closing is driven by capacitor energy storage for a short period of time. Once triggered, it cannot be interrupted halfway to ensure the integrity of the closing pulse;

Safety warning: There is a deadly high voltage inside the terminal, only certified electrical personnel can open the cover for maintenance; The cover plate can only be removed after power failure and full discharge;

Anti static requirements: Internal MOS devices, maintenance workbenches, and personnel need to be anti-static; It is prohibited to replace components with electricity.
