4.3 Unpacking and inspectionRecommended steps for inspecting the drive after delivery.
1. Remove all packaging material carefully.
2. Check the drive and accompanying equipment
for damages.
3. Compare the complete delivery with the pur chase order and the packing list.
4. If parts are missing or damaged, immediately
inform the shipping company and the ABB ser vice organization.
It is recommended to photograph the damages
and send the photographs to ABB.
The following instructions should be observed at all times during
transportation of the drive.
4.4.1 General notes on transportation
• Drive components can be damaged during
transportation. Therefore, transport the cabi net in upright position.
• Keep the doors closed to prevent dirt entering.
Metallic dust in particular can cause damage
and failure when the drive is energized.
4.4.2 Using a crane
• Use lifting equipment (eg, web slings, chain
slings, round slings, safety hooks, shackles)
that corresponds to the weight of the cabinet.
• Attach the slings to the lifting brackets of the
base frame (4-1: 1).
Attention! Use appropriate safety hooks or
shackles to attach a sling (4-1: 2). Do not pass a
sling through the hole!
If necessary to ease lifting, temporarily remove
the prominent air intake panels (4-1: 3).
• Verify that the slope angle (4-1: 4) corresponds
to the weight of the cabinet. Observe the center
of gravity.
• Lift the cabinet slowly and steadily to the
required clearance height maintaining the cabi net in upright position.
• Check the horizontal position of the cabinet.
Reposition the slings if necessary.
For further information, see
• Mechanical drawings provide details
on dimensions, weight, and of center
of gravity of the cabinet.
• 10.6 Corrective maintenance provides
instructions if the door of the DFE INU
compartment cannot be opened.

4.4.3 Using a forklift (only ACS2000 with 1 MVA
output power)
• Only transport the cabinet with the short side
facing the driving direction.
When transporting the drive cabinet, the rec ommended position of the forklift is on the
right short side of the cabinet (4-2). This is the
cabinet side with the heaviest drive compo nents.
• Use forks with sufficient length to ensure stable
transportation and to prevent tipping.
When the forklift is positioned on the left
(4-2: 1), the forks must be at least as long as the
cabinet.
When the forklift is positioned on the right
(4-2: 2), the forks must be at least as long as
indicated by the arrow.
Insert the fork fully into the cabinet’s forklift
pockets.
4.4.4 Using hand pallet trucks
• Choose the load capacity and the fork length of
the pallet truck according to the following
table.
• Place the pallet truck on the left or on the right
of the cabinet.
• Insert the forks fully into the cabinet’s forklift
pockets.
