K-WANG

Main characteristics
Slot positions: A total of 16 slots, only supporting Compact200 series FBM modules; Only supports horizontal installation.
Bus: Redundant 2Mbps Module Fieldbus (HDLC serial bus), A/B dual bus redundancy.
Power supply: redundant 24VDC power supply for both main and auxiliary circuits; Compatible with FPS480-24/FPS400-24/FPS240-24/FPS120 24 series power supplies.
I/O on-site terminals: The base plate is equipped with on-site I/O connectors, which can be assembled with external terminals and connected to on-site process signals.
Redundant I/O support: Each pair of redundant FBM modules requires a redundant adapter, which must occupy adjacent parity pairing slots.
Bottom board ID DIP switch: Set the bottom board number to generate a 6-character unique address Letterbug for the module.
Online expansion: With redundant A/B buses, it is possible to add Compact200/Standard 200 series baseboards to existing bus chains online without shutting down.
Passive backplane architecture reduces active device failure points.

Interface definition (backplane)
Function Description of Identification Interface Name
A Fieldbus Module Connectors FBM module slot connectors
B Primary Power 24VDC power input
C Secondary Power auxiliary 24VDC redundant power input
D Module Fieldbus IN module fieldbus input: from controller CPU or upper level motherboard
E Module Fieldbus OUT module fieldbus output: goes to the next level motherboard; The last bottom board of the bus chain must be connected to the terminal RH916RB
F Field I/O Connectors are on-site I/O signal connectors that connect to external terminal components
Bus cable requirements: shielded twisted pair cable, used for 2Mbps HDLC A/B redundant bus, single segment cable 0.125-60 μ m, total length of the entire bus up to 60 μ m.
Addressing Mechanism - Letterbug (Module 6-Character Identification)
The Compact200 motherboard does not have a physical Letterbug hardware label, and the module address is automatically calculated and generated by the motherboard DIP dialing and module physical slot, and reported to the DCS system software.
DIP switch has two states:
ON: Base plate group number 0&1;
OFF: Base plate group numbers 2&3.
The 16 slots are divided into two groups: the first 8 slots use the first base plate number, and the last 8 slots use the second base plate number.
The first Compact bottom plate of the bottom chain: front 8 slots=number 0, rear 8 slots=number 1;
The last Compact bottom plate of the bottom chain: front 8 slots=number 2, rear 8 slots=number 3.
6-character Letterbug: The first 4 characters have a unified bottom chain; The 5th character is taken from the baseboard number (0-3); The 6th character is taken from the physical location of the module (1-8).

Bottom chain hybrid networking rules
The Compact200 motherboard can be mixed with the standard 200 series motherboard on the same bus chain, but the constraint is:
The Compact200 motherboard can only be placed at the beginning (0&1) or end (2&3) of the entire chain, and cannot be placed in the middle.
Mode 1: All Compact200 baseboards;
Mode 2: The beginning of the chain is Compact200, followed by a standard 200 base plate;
Mode 3: The front is a standard 200 base plate, and the end of the chain is connected to a Compact200 base plate.
The entire 200 series bus chain supports a maximum of 32 FBM modules.
Fiber optic expansion bus (FCM2F series fiber optic module)
FCM2F2/FCM2F4/FCM2F10 are used for long-distance extension of bus optical fibers:
FCM2F2: maximum 2 km;
FCM2F4: maximum 4 km;
FCM2F10: maximum 10 km;
Redundant configuration requires paired use of A/B channels; Up to two stages of FCM2F10 can be connected in series, with a total distance of up to 20 km.
Module installation and redundancy rules
Non redundant FBM module: can be inserted into any available slot;
Redundant FBM module: must be installed in adjacent odd even pairing slots and must be equipped with a matching Redundant Adapter;
Module supports hot swapping: When replacing FBM modules, there is no need to disconnect the on-site terminal cables, power supply, and bus cables.
Bus terminal and splitter accessories
RH916RB Terminator: The OUT port of the last backplane of the bus chain must be connected to RH916RB; It can also be used for terminal matching at the end of the CP side bus of the control processor.
RH926KW (replacing P0926KW) terminal/separator: splits the A/B redundant buses for cross board redundant wiring, and can also be used for bus terminal matching.
The Compact200 motherboard does not support GPS time gating signals.
Online expansion conditions
To add a backplane to the running bus chain, it is necessary to have an A/B dual redundant Module Fieldbus bus, paired with an RH926KW splitter, to achieve online access to the new backplane without interrupting the operation of the existing system.
