Overall product architecture

The MICE series consists of a basic main module, a media module (MMxx), and an expansion module MB20, supporting hot swappable media modules.

MS20: All ports 10/100M; port size 08/16/24 ports; No gigabit slots available.

MS30: Add up to 2 Gigabit SFP slots on top of 100Mbps; Port size 08/16/24 ports.

MB20 expansion module: Add 2 media module slots to MS20-1600/MS30-1602 to achieve port expansion.

Media module (MM2/MM3/MM4/MM22 PoE/MM24 IO): Provides RJ45 copper ports, multimode/single-mode fiber ST/DSC/MTRJ, SFP gigabit, PoE power supply, and digital IO.

MM4: Gigabit, supports either RJ45 or SFP, inserting SFP will automatically close the corresponding copper port;

MM22-T1T1T1T1: IEEE802.3af PoE module, external 48V power supply;

MM24:4 Input and Output Digital IO Module.

Hardware interface

power terminal

A/C version: Two sets of 4-pin pluggable terminals, dual redundant power supply P1/P2, 18-32V/18-60V DC; Equipped with two relay alarm passive signal contacts RL1 and RL2.

E-version: Single set of 6-pin terminals, integrated with dual power input and two-way relays.

Relay contact alarm conditions: power loss, port link failure, overheating, module removal; Normal state contact closed, fault disconnected; Under ATEX operating conditions, the contact current limit is ≤ 100mA for resistive loads.

Management interface

V. 24 (RJ11): RS232 serial port CLI console, 9600-8-N-1.

USB: Connect to ACA automatic configuration adapter, save/load configuration, firmware upgrade.

DIP dip switch

4-pin (A/C model): RM redundancy manager, Ring port ring network port selection, Standby ring coupling, software configuration priority (factory default software priority).

3-pin (E-type): RM, Ring port, Standby.

LED indicator light

Substrate LED: P1/P2 power supply, RM redundant manager, RUN running, RL1/RL2 alarm relay.

SELECT button: Switch the display meaning of the media module port LED (link/full duplex/rate/auto negotiation/HIPER Ring/PoE status, etc.).

Media module ports: RJ45, various fiber optic interfaces, SFP slots; Each media module comes with a port status LED.

Safety, Certification, and Environmental Conditions

Safety focus

Only qualified technicians are allowed to operate; DIN rail installation must be reliably grounded for protection; Ventilation space up and down ≥ 10cm.

Supports ATEX/IECEx/UKEX Zone 2 explosion-proof and North American Class I Division 2 hazardous area use;

USB/V.24 in hazardous areas is only allowed for temporary maintenance plugging and unplugging, and plugging and unplugging are prohibited when live;

Components cannot be replaced arbitrarily, as it will damage the explosion-proof qualification; The connector can only be plugged in and unplugged when it is powered off.

The power supply must have SELV safety ultra-low voltage; North America requires NEC Class2 power supply.

The equipment is a Class A EMC device, which may cause interference when used in residential areas.

Installation and wiring steps

Open box inspection, the media module can be hot plugged and installed from left to right in sequence; Comes with label paper for marking IP, MAC, and port usage.

SFP optical module: only Hirschmann original SFP is allowed to be used; Plug and unplug operation specifications.

PoE media module MM22-T1T1T1: requires an external RPS60/48V-EEC 48V power supply, wired within 3m, and meets IEEE802.3af requirements.

DIN rail 35mm standard rail installation; Vertical installation of equipment; The shell can be grounded through guide rails or independent grounding screws.

Wiring suggestions:

Shielded cables for twisted pair cables; Power cables and network cables should be routed separately, crossing at a 90 degree angle as much as possible, and not running parallel for long distances;

Fiber optic: wavelength matching for transmission and reception; Single mode and multi-mode cannot be mixed.

Terminal wiring: maximum cross-sectional area of wire 2.5mm ² (AWG12); The negative pole of the DC input is grounded.

Dial configuration: The default DIP switch at the factory does not work, software configuration takes priority; If hardware control is required for HIPER Ring ring network, modify the corresponding dialing code.

Power on and basic configuration

After powering on, the self-test startup is completed in about 60 seconds.

Default parameters:

IP acquisition: DHCP;

User password public (read-only), admin password private (read-write); Mandatory change of admin password for first-time login;

HIPER Ring ring network shutdown; RSTP fast tree generation enabled; Port auto negotiation enabled.

Management approach:

① V.24 serial port CLI; ② Web pages; ③ HiVision industrial network management software; ④ SNMP.

ACA adapter: USB interface, backup and restore configuration files.

Maintenance and disassembly

There are no vulnerable parts, only the relay has mechanical life loss, and it should be checked regularly according to the frequency of operation.

Dismantling sequence: Disconnect all data cables → Disconnect the power supply → Remove the terminal block → Release the DIN rail lock and remove the entire machine; SFP、 The media module supports separate disassembly.

Key points of technical data

Power supply: 18-32VDC/18-60VDC, dual redundant inputs; The power consumption of the whole machine varies with the combination of modules.

Relay alarm contact: maximum 1A resistive load under normal operating conditions; Explosion proof working condition limit is 100mA.
