WESTINGHOUSE MAX-VH ™/ MAX-VHP ™ Series vertical hollow shaft induction motor

TECO-Westinghouse MAX-VH ™/ MAX-VHP ™ Series of vertical hollow shaft induction motors, covering a power range of 7.5-1000 HP, suitable for 230V/460V (low voltage), 2300V/4000V (medium voltage) voltage, synchronous speed of 900/1200/1800 RPM, using high-grade cast iron frame, 1045 carbon steel hollow shaft and F-class insulation system, with a protection level of IP23 (WP1)/IP55 (TEFC), certified by NEMA MG-1/MG-13 standards, with a service factor of 1.15 and a 36 month warranty. The core application is in direct coupling scenarios such as pumps, supporting direct start, star delta start, VFD start, and key performance including 125% overspeed tolerance and 160% rated torque tolerance. It is a highly reliable power equipment for industrial heavy-duty scenarios

Structural Design and Core Configuration

(1) Key materials and construction

Rack and connectors: High grade cast iron rack, flange bracket (P-Base), upper bracket, TEFC type with oil tank design (324TP-5810P).

Shaft system: 1045 carbon steel hollow shaft, ensuring high strength and transmission reliability.

Core and winding: C5 grade cold-rolled electromagnetic steel core; The stator winding adopts polyester enameled copper wire (low voltage), mica+glass insulated formed coil (medium voltage 449TP and above), F-class insulation system, and is treated with immersion paint baking.

External components: aluminum alloy external fan, steel plate vertical splash proof cover, cast iron junction box (can rotate 90 °, supports external conduit connection).

Environmental temperature: -15 ℃~40 ℃ (WP1 type); Dangerous environment (TEFC type): CSA certified Class 1, Div 2, Group B, C, D, minimum temperature level T3.

Relative humidity: ≤ 80% RH (no condensation).

Power supply fluctuation: voltage ± 10%, frequency ± 5%, combined fluctuation ± 10% (frequency fluctuation ≤± 5%).

Installation method: Flange installation (IM3011), only supports direct coupling transmission.

Standard configuration: wedge key, non reversing pawl (NRR, ball type spark free design), heavy-duty beryllium copper ball, junction box internal/external grounding terminal.

Optional configurations: Stable liner, alternative upper coupler, alternative P-Base size, digital/analog metering kit.

Coupling kit: Each motor includes 1 set of couplers, and individual purchases need to be priced according to the list. The BX size tolerance is strictly controlled (≤ 1.5 inches:+0.001/-0.000 inches; > 1.5 inches:+0.0015/-0.000 inches).
