EMC anti-interference wiring rules
All analog and digital signals use shielded twisted pair cables;
The shielding layer should be grounded at both ends first; Change to single ended grounding when there is a ground potential difference;
The signal line and power cable are laid separately, with a spacing of ≥ 50cm;
The interference devices inside the cabinet are arranged at the bottom of the cabinet, and the grounding bar is close to the cable entrance; Multiple short-circuit protection grounding for cabinet doors and metal components.
Shielding wiring method: Use the device's built-in grounding bar and shielding clip to crimp the cable shield onto the shielding clip.
I/O interface hardware parameters
1) Digital quantity DI/DO
Digital input DI: 16 channels, 24VDC, group isolation; Can be connected to a switch or a two-wire proximity switch.
Digital output DO: 16 channels, 24VDC; Single channel 0.5A; maximum 4A per group (20 ℃), high temperature drops to 2A; electrical isolation; At the moment of power on, a brief pulse will be output; Support solenoid valves and DC contactors; Internal voltage limiting protection for inductive loads; Equipped with short-circuit electronic protection.
The panel comes with system functions, allowing for direct viewing of DI/DO binary status on the screen without the need for a programmer.
2) Analog AI/AO
Analog input AI: 4 channels, 12 bits including sign bit; Isolation; Supports -10V voltage, ± 20mA, 4-20mA; 4-20mA mode supports disconnection diagnosis; Conversion time 2.5ms, basic error ± 1% of full scale.
Current measurement requires short circuiting the AI-U and AI-I pins. Supports isolated/non isolated transmitter wiring, with a complete wiring schematic provided in the documentation.
Analog output AO: 1 channel, 12 bits with symbols; Configurable voltage output (± 10V) or current output (± 20mA/4-20mA); Electrical isolation; Perform group fault diagnosis.
3) Universal Input
There are a total of 4 DI-X1~X4 channels, with software switchable functions: normal digital input, interrupt input, counter, frequency measurement, and cycle measurement; X3 supports frequency/cycle acquisition; The counting range is 0-16777215.

MPI Multipoint Interface Network Configuration
C7 baud rate is fixed at 187.5 kbit/s; The C7 device occupies two MPI addresses internally: OP defaults to 1, CPU defaults to 2, and programmer PG defaults to 0.
Network rules
The MPI addresses of all nodes in the network cannot be duplicated; The parameter setting for the "highest MPI address" across the entire network must be consistent;
The maximum number of nodes in a single RS-485 network segment is 32; Expanding beyond the use of RS485 repeaters; Up to 9 repeaters can be connected in series;
The bus connectors at both ends of the physical bus must have terminal resistors open; The node that opens the terminal resistor must remain powered on;
Maintaining PG can access the network through spur lines, but the length of the spur lines is limited.
Hardware components: PROFIBUS shielded bus cable, two types of 9-Sub bus connectors (with/without PG programming port), RS-485 repeater; The document provides detailed illustrations of bus connector stripping, wiring, and vertical/diagonal outlet settings.
CPU-CPU communication: C7-CPU supports up to 4 global data GD communication loops and exchanges global data with other S7-300/C7s.
PG/Programmer Connection
Two access methods:
Fixed access: PG is directly connected to the MPI bus as a network node;
Maintain temporary access: connect to a bus connector with a programming port through a branch line;
When the network address is unknown on site, PG sets MPI address 0 and the highest address to 126, and scans the network to identify all sites.
Maintenance chapter
Backup lithium battery replacement: The battery must be replaced when the device is powered on, otherwise RAM data will be lost; Suggest annual replacement; Lithium batteries belong to Class 9 dangerous goods and are prohibited from charging, squeezing, drilling, and high temperature; Storage for up to 5 years.
Whole machine replacement: Before replacing C7, ensure that the program and HMI project have been backed up in PG, and download the project after the new device performs a memory reset.
