Product model and hardware composition

UNITROL 1000-7: Basic model, maximum continuous excitation output of 7A, aimed at synchronous motor manufacturers and system integrators who pursue low cost.

UNITROL 1000-15: Core controller body, maximum continuous excitation DC output of 15 A; power unit supports AC or DC power supply; Comes with a local human-machine panel; Can run independently.

UNITROL 1000-PM40: Independent IGBT power expansion module; Communicating with the 1000-15 controller via the CAN-Bus bus, plug and play, the controller automatically configures PM40 without the need for additional debugging; The combination of the two is called UNITOL 1000-40, which increases the maximum continuous excitation current to 40 A and is suitable for retrofitting old DC excitation units for use in scenarios with excitation currents of 15-40 A.

The PM40 panel LED indicator displays critical operating status.

Typical application wiring scenarios

Parallel excitation (configurable short-circuit enhancement compound): Directly powered by the machine end, supporting external short-circuit compensation.

Redundant dual regulator configuration for PMG permanent magnet generator power supply: Two UNITROL 1000-15 units form a 100% redundant excitation system, with power provided by the permanent magnet generator PMG.

Old unit renovation: Replace traditional DC excitation machine: 1000-15+PM40 (UNITROL-40), upgrade and renovate old analog and mechanical voltage regulators.

Debugging and maintenance tools, core capabilities:

Read, write, and configure all parameters;

Power angle/P-Q limit graphic display, visually viewing the working point of the limiter;

Oscilloscope function: can select 4 signal graphics for recording; A total of 20 channels were recorded with a sampling resolution of 50ms;

Export and save numerical data for post fault analysis.

System delivery form

ABB provides a complete pre testing system for the factory, with three options:

Single channel system: installed with a complete set of base plates, used for small and medium-sized water turbines, diesel synchronous generators, and can also be used for synchronous motor excitation.

Dual channel 100% redundant system: for situations with high requirements for reliability and availability.

Complete small cabinet set: The entire excitation system is integrated into an independent switchgear, including excitation switches, interface relays, transmitters, fuses, and all other components; Suitable for projects where the existing cabinet space is insufficient on site.

The output capability of single-phase AC power supply decreases; Protection IP20; Plug and play through CAN bus and 1000-15 controller.
