PXES-2301 is a compact 6-slot PXI Express chassis that complies with PXI-5 and cPCI Express specifications. It has one system controller slot and five hybrid peripheral slots, and is compatible with various modules such as CompactPCI, PXI-1, CompactPCIe, and PXIe. It is designed for testing and measurement scenarios.

Amber Temperature: normally off=normal temperature; Flashing=temperature exceeding threshold (default 70 ℃);
Green Fan: Always on=fan is normal; Flashing=Fan speed below threshold (default 800RPM);
Blue Power: Always on=Power supply is normal; Flashing=abnormal power rail voltage.

Hardware Installation
1. Packaging List
PXES-2301 chassis, power cords, unused slot fill panel kit, quick start guide. Open the box and check for any transportation damage.
2. Precautions for heat dissipation
The bottom fan takes in air from the bottom and takes out air from the top; The power supply enters from the right side and exhausts to the rear and left sides;
All ventilation holes must have a ventilation gap of ≥ 44.45mm (1U) reserved around them; The bottom rubber foot pad cannot be removed to ensure air intake at the bottom;
Unused slots must be equipped with filling baffles to ensure proper ventilation; Do not place the handle of the hand downwards to obstruct heat dissipation.
3. Module installation steps
System Controller (Slot1): Confirm that the CPU, memory, and storage of the controller are properly installed; Release the lock buckle, slide along the guide rail into the slot, fasten the lock buckle, and tighten the front panel fixing screw;
Peripheral module (Slot2-6): Select an empty slot, release the lock, slide in the module, fasten the lock, and tighten the panel screws; Empty slots must be equipped with baffles.
4. Rack installation
Choose PXES-2301 rack installation kit; Remove the right handle and left rubber foot pad; M4 screws fix the brackets on both sides, and the position of the brackets can be adjusted to achieve adjustable depth of the chassis; Secure to the standard cabinet using external screws.
5. Power on
This chassis is a wide voltage power supply and does not require voltage switching; Connect the power cord, press the power button, and the blue power LED will light up to turn on the device.
Chassis Monitoring Function
The chassis is monitored through the system slot SMBus bus using the accompanying software ADLINK ChassisWatch. The PXI platform service package needs to be installed, and the PXI resource manager must be activated.
Main functional modules of the software:
Connect Control: MBus bus connection, start stop, release; Chassis status log recording, with the ability to set sampling periods and overwrite/append log files; Save, load, and restore the threshold configuration file to its factory default settings; Check the firmware versions of MCU, backplane, and power board.
Chassis control and alarm threshold setting
Target Temp: In AUTO mode, the fan speed is adjusted based on the highest temperature of the three sensors inside the chassis; 25 ℃ fan with a minimum duty cycle of 30%, 65 ℃ fan at full speed;
Fan mode: The software can also switch between Auto/High full speed mode;
Alarm threshold: configurable DC voltage, temperature, and fan speed alarm thresholds for each channel.
Chassis Status: Real time reading of various power supply voltages, 3 chassis temperature sensors T1/T2/T3, and 2 fan speeds, displaying normal/abnormal status.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance
1. Troubleshooting during startup
System cannot start priority check: whether the controller and peripheral modules are fully plugged in, cable connection, module compatibility, power cord;
If all components are installed and cannot be started, unplug all peripheral modules for testing, and then insert the fault locating modules one by one.
2. Common fault phenomena
Key points for troubleshooting fault phenomena
The whole machine cannot be powered on. Confirm that the power cord is secure and the socket is powered on
No video output confirmed, monitor is normal, system display output settings are correct
The power LED is flashing and the power rail is abnormal. Please contact the dealer
Fan LED flashing, fan obstruction or fan malfunction
The temperature LED flashes and the ventilation opening should not be blocked to ensure a clear ventilation gap; Still contacting the dealer abnormally
3. Maintenance operations
Handling: Use the body handle, the whole machine weighs 5.85kg, be careful not to hit it;
Cleaning: After power off, wipe the outer shell with a clean cloth, focusing on cleaning the dust at the air inlet;
Power supply: Confirm that the power cord is intact and do not connect it to an overload socket;
Maintenance: Internal maintenance must be operated by authorized technicians; Power off and unplug the power cord before maintenance.
Safety instructions
For indoor use only, with a maximum working altitude of 2000 meters and a pollution level of PD2;
Before maintenance and disassembly, be sure to turn off the power and unplug the power cord; Disassembling the chassis cover must be powered off;
Stay away from liquid, high temperature and humid environments; Ventilation openings must not be obstructed; The power socket should be easy to plug and unplug;
Built in lithium battery, there is a risk of explosion if the battery model is replaced incorrectly;
If the equipment is damaged by power cords, water ingress, or falling, it should be repaired by an authorized service provider;
There is a risk of scalding on high-temperature surfaces, please cool down before touching.
