Product model and core positioning
PXIS-3320 is a 19 inch standard 6U height 15 slot PXI chassis, compatible with 6U PXI and CompactPCI (cPCI) modules, and available in two power versions:
PXIS-3320 (Standard Edition): 2 250W hot swappable power supplies, with a total power of 500W for the entire machine;
PXIS-3320/1000W (high-power version): 4 250W hot swappable power supplies, with a total power of 1000W for the entire machine;
Core application scenarios
High power PXI measurement/automation systems such as high-speed digitizers, digital IO driver cards, and communication testing modules.

Overall hardware appearance and layout
1. Front panel components
15 card slots: Slot1 system slot, Slot2 star trigger slot, Slot3-14 universal peripheral slot;
Upper right control area: power switch, alarm reset button, status LED indicator light;
Lower right power compartment: 2/4 hot swappable cPS-H325 power modules;
Bottom and top fan compartments: pull-out fan tray, fixed with screws.
2. Chassis side/top/rear
Two side handling handles for easy disassembly and assembly of the cabinet;
Rear: AC power input port, AC circuit breaker, whole machine heat dissipation mesh;
3. Cooling system
Dual duct architecture: 5 80mm inlet fans at the bottom and 5 outlet fans at the top, a total of 10 dual ball brushless fans;
The air volume of a single tray is 241CFM, and the total air volume of the whole machine is 482CFM; Fan malfunction will trigger a buzzing and flashing alarm.
CBX-6015 Backplane Bus Complete Function (Core)
The backplane complies with PXI Rev2.2 and PICMG 2.0/2.11 standards, with a 15 slot partitioned bus architecture:
Slot1 system controller slot
Dedicated main control position, recommended to be paired with cPCI-6840/cPCI-6860A controller, also supports PCI-8570 remote expansion host control; Occupy the complete PCI and PXI expansion signals of dual connectors P1/P2.
Slot2 Star Trigger dedicated slot
The only star triggers the main control slot and distributes ultra-low offset trigger signals (offset<1ns) to Slot3-15, suitable for high-precision synchronous acquisition of multiple modules; Comes with a local bus.
Slot3-15 Universal Peripheral Slot
14 standard 6U slots, all leading to PXI standard bus:
10MHz Global Reference Clock (PXI_CLK10): Independent buffer driver, inter slot clock offset<1ns, supports external clock input switching;
8-way PXI trigger bus: cross slot synchronous acquisition, timing control;
Local bus: adjacent slots with 14 parallel analog/digital side channels, not occupying PCI bandwidth;
Star trigger line: Slot2 triggers independent lines for each slot;
Backboard electrical design:
Dual ground separation: GND signal ground, FGND power protection ground, default isolation, can be externally short circuited to eliminate the ground loop;
Multiple external auxiliary interfaces: SMB system management bus, reset, power failure, clock selection jumper, IO voltage selection terminal.

System monitoring and alarm mechanism
1. Tri color status LED (front panel)
LED type color is always on, flashing, and off

Fan light amber, fan speed normal, fan abnormal stop detection fault
2. Sound and light alarm
When there is abnormal voltage, overheating, or fan damage, the built-in buzzer will continue to sound; The panel Alarm Reset button can mute and reset the alarm.
3. Monitoring signal output
Backplane SMB bus, FAL power failure, RST system reset signal can be remotely monitored by an external upper computer for chassis status.
Complete installation operation process
Power consumption calculation before installation: First, calculate the total power consumption of all PXI modules and controllers (3.3/5/± 12V), and confirm that the power version of the chassis meets the load requirements;
Rack/countertop placement: Reserve ventilation space around and place steadily;
Module installation specifications:
Power off the entire machine, release the card slot lock, align with the guide rail and insert the 6U module, fasten the handle and screw it in place; Prioritize installing Slot1 controller and Slot2 star trigger card before installing peripherals;
Power on steps: Ground the AC power cord → Close the rear circuit breaker → Turn on the front panel power switch;
Grounding specification: Backplane FGND grounding protection, short-circuit GND and FGND as needed in measurement scenarios;
Hot swappable replacement parts (no need to power off the entire machine):
Power module: Release the handle and directly remove it for replacement;
Fan: Loosen the screws on the compartment cover, remove the fan tray, and replace the fan unit.
Troubleshooting and Regular Maintenance
1. Troubleshooting table for machine failure to start up
The power cord is not plugged in/the socket is dead: replace the socket and check the wiring;
Rear AC circuit breaker disconnected: reset the circuit breaker after power failure and restart;
The power switch on the front panel is not turned on: set it to the ON position;
Power module failure: Observe the power FAULT alarm light and replace the hot swappable power supply.
2. Regular cleaning and maintenance standards
Before cleaning, the entire machine must be powered off and the AC power cord must be unplugged;
Internal: Low pressure drying air gun blows away dust, stubborn stains are wiped with 75% isopropanol and then wiped clean with pure water and dried;
External: Wipe with a dust-free soft cloth and neutral cleaning agent. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents;
The fan compartment should be cleaned of accumulated dust to avoid air duct blockage and overheating.
