Chapter 2 Getting Started
Requirements for unpacking and anti-static measures: Use anti-static wristbands/bags throughout the process. Do not touch the chip with bare gold fingers. If damaged, contact the dealer immediately for replacement;
System deployment method: It can be used as the main control slot of cPCI chassis system or run independently as a regular peripheral slot, and the backplane needs to lead out the J1/J2 standard cPCI bus;
Hard requirements for heat dissipation: The factory comes with a CPU heat sink, which must run continuously at 1m/s through the chassis air duct; Without forced air cooling, the CPU may overheat and be permanently damaged;
BIOS basic operations: Press Del to enter Award plug and play BIOS upon startup, supporting serial port remote console redirection, PXE boot, and ACPI/APM energy-saving;
Operating system installation steps: Prioritize configuring peripherals → Set BIOS boot sequence → Deploy Windows 98/2000/NT/Linux via floppy disk/CD.

Chapter 3 Hardware Configuration (Jumpers, Resistors, Buttons)
Front switch
SW1: Hardware reset button, press the machine hard restart button.
Functional jumper group
JP2 clearing CMOS: Short circuiting 2-3 to normal mode; Short circuit 1-2 seconds to clear BIOS parameters and password;
JP1/JP3/JP4: COM2 serial port protocol switching, switch RS232/RS422/RS485 three level modes by short circuiting with jumper wires.
0 Ω configuration resistor (PMC power supply)
Default R28/R29 welding: PMC slot 5V power supply;
Dismantle R28/R29, weld R30/R31: PMC slot 3.3V power supply.
Chapter 4 Special Instructions for Watchdog Timer
Two level protection logic: software fails to feed the dog on time → first level triggers NMI unshielded interrupt; Continuous no feeding to the dog → Second level machine hardware reset;
Register operation port 3F0h, both read and write can reset the timer counter; BIOS/application can read reset flags and distinguish whether a watchdog triggers a restart;
The CD comes with a complete DOS C language sample program, which can be directly integrated with industrial control upper computer and lower computer programs to achieve automatic recovery from system crashes.
Chapter 5 Driver Installation Guide
All drivers are stored on the accompanying integrated CD, divided into five major directories: chipset, graphics card, network card, watchdog, and hardware monitoring. They support systems such as Windows 98/2000/NT, Linux, Netware, QNX, etc. The installation points for each system are as follows:
440BX chipset driver: Bottom layer bus, PCI bridge basic driver, priority installation;
ATI M6-M graphics card driver: NT systems require the installation of SP6 or higher patch packages to enable AGP acceleration;
82559 Network Card Driver: NT systems require pre made driver floppy disks, which can be manually updated by the Device Manager;
Watchdog dynamic library: provides API functions to facilitate program reading and writing timers;
Hardware monitoring tool HWDoctor: reads board temperature, voltage, and fan data.
