Requirements for nameplate and software adaptation
Nameplate Information
The nameplate indicates the model, variant number, serial number, production date, motherboard model CPU、 Memory SSD、 Power supply parameters, network port MAC address, origin, and various certification marks are the core basis for equipment traceability and accessory matching.
TwinCAT version matching
Different hardware versions correspond to the minimum TwinCAT software version, which must meet the version requirements in order to fully utilize the hardware's performance:
C6030-0060:TwinCAT 3.1 build 4022.0 / 2.11 b2259(x86);
C6030-0070:TwinCAT 3.1 build 4024.12;
C6030-0080:TwinCAT 3.1 build 4024.53。

Equipment installation and power on operation
Transportation and unboxing
The hardware of the device has weak impact resistance and needs to be transported in its original packaging; After transportation in low temperature/large temperature difference environments, it is necessary to let it stand at room temperature before powering on. If condensation occurs, it must wait for more than 12 hours to prevent hardware damage.
Installation of control cabinet
Installation board: Standard installation board as standard, optional C9900-M668/C9900-M669 dedicated installation board, using TX10 screws with a tightening torque of 0.5Nm;
Installation method: Supports multiple installation positions such as backplate, upper side, lower side, and side wall; 5cm ventilation space must be reserved around the equipment to ensure heat dissipation;
Size: Provide detailed mechanical dimensions such as the entire machine, openings, installation depth, etc., suitable for control cabinet opening design.
Wiring and Grounding
Grounding: Both protective grounding (anti electric shock) and functional grounding (anti electromagnetic interference) must be carried out simultaneously, and the grounding wire is recommended to be ≥ 4mm ², meeting the EN 60204-1 standard;
Wiring sequence: Connect all data and ground wires first, and finally connect 24V power supply; The temperature resistance of the cable should be ≥ 70 ℃;
Electrical specifications: The external 24V is used as an isolated power supply, and the 0V of the supporting peripherals is kept at the same potential as the 0V of the equipment and the protective ground to avoid faults caused by potential differences.
Power on/off logic
PC-ON pin: 0V=power on, 24V=power off; During the shutdown period, it is necessary to maintain 24V continuously until the power is completely cut off, otherwise the device will restart;
Power Status output: After the system is completely powered off, it outputs 0V and can be linked to an external contactor to cut off the entire power supply. The maximum output load is 0.5A;
Networking reminder: Security measures must be deployed before accessing the public network; It is strictly prohibited to cut off the power when the system is not shut down properly to prevent data loss.
System configuration function
Beckhoff Device Manager
The device automatically starts when turned on, and can also be manually accessed by entering localhost/config through a browser for hardware diagnosis, status monitoring, and remote configuration;
Factory default account: Administrator, password: 1, forced password change upon first startup; The manufacturer recommends setting high complexity passwords (≥ 10 characters, including uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols) and regularly updating account permissions.
UPS-OCT Single Line Power Supply Communication Technology
Technical principle: UPS and industrial PC share a set of 24V power supply cables, while achieving power supply and bidirectional data communication, simplifying wiring;
Configuration method: Enter the power control option in BIOS and set UPS OCT-Access to Auto to enable it; You can also choose a dedicated BIOS (C9900-B654) that pre activates this feature;
Priority: If USB interface UPS is connected at the same time, USB connection priority is higher than OCT.
Shutdown, disassembly, and disposal
Shutdown process: Shut down the system normally → Cut off the external 24V power supply → Unplug the power plug → Remove the data cable and grounding wire in sequence; Do not plug or unplug cables during thunderstorms;
Disassembly: Loosen the mounting plate screws and remove the equipment from the control cabinet;
Scrap and dismantling: Classify and dispose of electronic waste according to local regulations, and separate plastic, metal, and circuit boards for recycling; The motherboard battery needs to be separately insulated with electrodes and handed over to a professional battery recycling organization for disposal.
Daily maintenance and component replacement
Cleaning Standards
Only use a vacuum cleaner for dust removal, and prohibit the use of compressed air and corrosive cleaning agents; During cleaning, the equipment can be kept powered on and the operating environment can be maintained at 0-55 ℃.
