Product basic positioning
M-2001B is a microprocessor based universal on load tap changer (LTC) controller that is compatible with various types of distribution tap changers, line regulators, and can directly replace mainstream old-fashioned tap changer controllers on the market; Integrating voltage regulation, parallel balancing, metering and recording, remote communication, fault alarm, and data storage, supporting 50/60Hz power grid, UL certification, original manufacturing in the United States, 5-year warranty for the whole machine, and possessing two US patents.
Core voltage regulation setting parameters (core regulation function)
1. Voltage reference and bandwidth
Bandcenter voltage: 100~135Vac, step size 0.1V;
Bandwidth (adjust dead zone bandwidth): 1~6V, step size 0.1V.
2. Line voltage drop compensation LDC
R/X independent impedance compensation: ± 24V, 1V step;
Z total impedance compensation: 0~24V boost compensation, 1V step.
3. Voltage regulation delay logic
Timing delay: 1-120s, 1-second step;
Inverse time delay: 1-120s, 1-second step;
Gear interval delay (sequential voltage regulation mode): 0-60s, waiting for multiple consecutive adjustment time intervals.
4. Optional output modes
Continuous output: continuously outputting up/down signals when the voltage exceeds the limit;
Pulse output: Pulse duration of 0.2~12s, adjustable at 0.1s.
5. Reverse power control (reverse flow scenario)
There are four modes: ignore reverse power, lock voltage regulation, reverse independent voltage regulation, and return to the middle gear; The single-phase voltage regulator supports reverse independent setting of PT without power supply side.
6. Voltage protection and fallback
Overvoltage/undervoltage limit: 95~135Vac, 0.1V step;
Overvoltage fallback dead zone: 1~4V;
Three level independent voltage reduction function, each level can set a reference voltage reduction of 0% to 10%.
7. Current lockout voltage regulation
Overcurrent lockout threshold adapted to CT specifications:
0.2A CT:200~640mA; 1A CT:1.0~3.2A; 5A CT:5.0~16.0A, Automatic prohibition of tap changer operation when current exceeds the standard.
Parallel balancing scheme for transformers (three mainstream methods)
Circulation method (standard): equipped with M-0115A parallel balancing module to collect circulation and balance each gear shift;
Master slave external loop method: external master slave interlocking hardware is used to achieve synchronous gear adjustment;
Δ VAR reactive power balance method
Δ VAR1: needs to be paired with M-0115A;
Δ VAR2: No need for additional balancing modules, simplified set;
Except for Δ VAR2, it is recommended to use M-0127 overcurrent relay for fault protection in other parallel schemes.

Measurement, metrology, and data recording functions
1. Real time full battery measurement
Local voltage, compensated load center voltage, line current, active kW/MW, reactive kVAr/MV A, apparent kVA/MVA, power factor, system frequency; Support CT-VT phase compensation from 0 ° to 330 ° (30 ° level).
2. Quantity measurement
The integration interval can be selected from 15/30/60 minutes, recording the maximum current, active power, reactive power, apparent power, and corresponding power factor at that time.
3. Extreme value band time scale storage
32 second average minimum/maximum voltage; All extreme load values within the demand cycle shall be archived with date and time stamps.
4. Harmonic analysis (with TapTalk software)
Can analyze the total harmonic distortion THD of voltage and current from 1st to 31st order; Record the number of actions for each tap position and support zeroing.
5. Counting management
Total operation counter: optional counting for every 1/2 gear adjustment, supporting preset initial values;
Resettable backup counter for maintenance statistics.
Hardware input/output specifications
1. Power input
Control power supply: rated 120Vac, 90~140Vac available, power consumption ≤ 8VA; 50Hz models 45~55Hz, 60Hz models 55~65Hz; short-time withstand voltage 2 times 1s, 4 times 1 cycle; Taken from the busbar PT.
Tap changer motor power supply: 120~240Vac, maximum 6A driving capacity.
2. CT current input (two channels of 0.2A full range)
Line voltage drop compensation CT: load ≤ 0.03VA, long-term 0.4A, short-term 4A/1s tolerance; 5A on-site CT with M-0121/M-0169 auxiliary CT converted to 0.2A;
Parallel circulating current CT: load ≤ 0.03VA, tolerance parameters as above.
3. Output circuit
Upshift RAISE, downshift LOWER main drive output: capable of carrying 120~240Vac, 6A motor load;
Alarm contact: 1 programmable normally open, 1 self-test normally closed, 3A on/off at 120Vac;
4. External switch input
External automatic voltage regulation locking, sequential voltage regulation reset, AUTO/OFF/MAN mode position feedback.
Front panel human-machine interaction
Buttons: UP (U), DOWN (D), ENTER (E), 2-line 16 character LCD menu;
Permission: Two level password protection, distinguishing viewing/modifying permissions;
Status LED: Four indicator lights for over limit rise, over limit fall, reverse power, and CPU normal.
Complete communication system (core remote capability)
1. Dual communication ports
COM1 (top rear): optional RS232/RS485/fiber ST;
