Type: ETEL Linear Motor Promotion Selection Manual, only provides product technical overview, selection comparison, and enterprise channels, does not include hardware wiring and driver debugging, and is used in conjunction with the DSC series servo drive mentioned earlier.
Overview of Core Advantages of Direct Drive
The direct drive structure eliminates intermediate mechanical transmission components such as screws, synchronous belts, gears and racks, and directly rigidly connects the rotor and load, bringing four core benefits:
Higher positioning accuracy, sub micron level repetitive positioning;
Extreme dynamic response, high acceleration and deceleration, stable high-speed operation;
The whole machine has a long lifespan and operates year-round without maintenance;
The comprehensive cost of using the equipment throughout its entire lifecycle is lower than that of traditional transmission solutions;
High stiffness, high thrust density, compact overall structure.
Two major motor technology routes: IL+coreless/LM with iron core
ETEL linear motors are divided into the non iron core IL+series and the iron core LM series, which are designed differently for different equipment space, dynamic, and thrust requirements. The core characteristics are compared as follows:
1. LM has iron core linear motor (LMG/LMS sub series)
Core advantages:
Extremely high thrust density, with greater sustained/peak thrust for the same volume;
Support adaptation to high voltage working conditions;
Adopting ETEL patented magnetic circuit design, with extremely low thrust ripple;
Applicable scenarios: high load, high thrust, medium stroke, equipment with strict volume restrictions.
2. IL+Ironless Linear Motor (ILF/ILM Subseries)
Core advantages:
There is no magnetic attraction between the stator and the rotor, and the load pressure on the guide rail is low;
Lightweight rotor, ultimate acceleration and deceleration performance, excellent speed stability;
Extremely small thrust ripple, suitable for ultra smooth and precise motion;
Applicable scenarios: high-speed light load, optical precision platform, vacuum equipment, low vibration processing.

Product selection thrust chart explanation
The manual contains a complete thrust selection bar chart, divided into two main sections: LM with iron core and IL+without iron core:
1. LM has iron cores (LMG05/LMG10/LMG15/LMG20, LMS05/LMS10/LM1915/LMS20)
Annotated parameters: Fc sustained thrust, Fp peak thrust;
The horizontal thrust unit is IN (Newton), and the vertical axis represents the model;
Distinguish effective rotor length a=30/50/70/100mm, and adjust thrust by changing rotor length for the same model;
The mechanical installation interfaces and overall dimensions of LMG and LMS are completely consistent, with only thrust performance grading. The cost of equipment modification design is extremely low.
2. IL+Ironless Core (ILF xx, ILM xx)
Distinguish between two types of heat dissipation: air cooling (light purple), forced air cooling (deep purple), and peak thrust (blue);
ILF is a small and light load model, while ILM is a high thrust ironless model, covering the peak thrust range of 21.5N~2280N.
Product design convenience features
Multi thrust models with the same external dimensions and installation interface can be interchanged (such as LMS/LMG series), and equipment iteration and thrust upgrade do not require reprocessing of mechanical structures;
Complete thrust gradient coverage: from light load high-speed without iron core to heavy load with iron core, covering all scenarios of semiconductor, laser, optics, and automation;
The patented magnetic circuit suppresses thrust fluctuations, greatly improves motion stability, and adapts to high-precision positioning requirements.
Typical supporting facilities and application scenarios
IL+/LM linear motors need to be paired with ETEL DSC series direct drive servo drives (DSC2P/DSCDL, etc.) to form a complete direct drive motion system, mainly used for:
Semiconductor wafer vacuum precision translation stage;
Laser micro cutting and precision carving processing equipment;
Optical detection and AOI visual high-precision positioning platform;
