Product Fundamentals and Core Positioning

The Eaton EX series UPS is a dual conversion online uninterruptible power supply designed for industrial and commercial scenarios. Its core positioning is to provide stable power protection for servers, data storage, network equipment, VoIP communication, medical equipment, and industrial processes. Through automatic bypass, power factor correction (PFC), and hot swappable design, it ensures power supply continuity and availability, while supporting flexible expansion and remote monitoring to adapt to diverse load requirements (especially low power factor loads, rated PF=0.9). The product offers two forms: tower and RT2U (2U rack/tower convertible) to meet different installation environment requirements.

Core functional characteristics

Power Supply Guarantee and Expansion

Dual transformation online topology: filtering out power grid interference throughout the entire process, providing pure sine wave output, coupled with automatic bypass function, seamlessly switching to mains power in case of faults, ensuring that the load is not affected;

Hot swappable battery: supports uninterrupted battery replacement without shutting down the load, improving system availability;

HotSwap MBP module: maintains bypass module, allowing continuous power supply to the load during UPS replacement without any power outage gaps;

Battery Expansion: 1-4 EXB battery packs can be connected externally, with a maximum backup time of 285 minutes (under 50% load of 2200VA model), meeting long-term power supply needs.

Output Control and Flexibility

Powershare intelligent output: output sockets are grouped and independently controlled, supporting load offloading (prioritizing power supply for critical equipment), remote restart, sequential startup, and maximizing backup time;

Interface configuration: The basic model provides 6-8 IEC C13 sockets, which can be expanded to 12 IEC 10A sockets with FlexPDU. The 2200VA/3000VA model is equipped with an additional IEC C19 (16A) socket, suitable for high-power devices;

Installation form: The tower model is compact in size, and the RT2U model supports 2U rack installation or tower conversion, suitable for shallow rack environments in computer rooms. The 1000VA/1500VA RT2U can be connected through terminal blocks or sockets.

Monitoring and Communication

Local operation: equipped with 3 LED indicator lights and a multi language adjustable LCD display screen, real-time display of voltage, frequency, load rate and other parameters, supporting local menu configuration;

Communication interface: comes standard with 1 USB port, 1 RS232 serial port, relay contacts, supports remote start stop and emergency stop;

Extended monitoring: Reserve 1 communication slot for installing network card MS (Ethernet connection, SNMP alarm+browser monitoring), network and ModBus card MS (multi protocol monitoring), relay card MS (status output+second serial port);

Supporting software: Eaton software suite supports centralized management of multiple UPS on Windows PC, and environmental monitoring probes can monitor temperature, humidity, and contact status of two relays through SNMP/HTML.
