Overview of Product System

The FANUC α i-B/β i-B series servo system covers all scenario requirements with a dual line product of "high performance+high cost-effectiveness". The core includes four categories of products, all of which support 200V/400V dual voltage input and are compatible with different regional power supply standards:

AC servo motor @ * S-B/@ * F-B (high-performance) high-end precision equipment, such as large machine tools and press machines, with a resolution of 32 million/4 million rev and a torque of 18000Nm, supporting multi motor drive

AC servo motor # * S-B/# * F-B (cost-effective) universal industrial equipment, basic precision requirement resolution of 1 million rev, compact design, cost optimization

AC spindle motor @ * I-B/@ * S-B and other (high-performance) high-speed heavy cutting machine tools, such as machining centers with a power of 200kW and a torque of 2000Nm, supported by hollow shaft coolant

Detailed features of core products

(1) AC servo motor (feed axis drive)

Performance parameters:

Resolution: The high-performance series offers 3200000/rev or 4000000/rev, while the cost-effective series offers 1000000/rev;

Power and torque: The high-performance series has a maximum power of 500kW and a torque of 18000Nm, supporting "multi amplifier drive" and "multi motor drive" technology for extended output;

Control accuracy: The special magnetic pole shape reduces torque fluctuations, coupled with SERVO HRV+control, achieves smooth rotation and high-precision machining.

Reliability design:

Protection level: optional IP67 waterproof, unique sealing structure to resist cutting fluid erosion;

Encoder: Supports Battery less Pulsecoder, eliminating the need for battery backup and reducing maintenance costs.

Usability design:

Connection: One click power connector, quick plugging and easy replacement;

Optional function: Backlash reduction braking, adapted to high-precision positioning requirements.

(2) AC spindle motor (spindle drive)

Performance parameters:

Power and torque: The high-performance series has a maximum power of 200kW and a torque of 2000Nm. The short-term rated output (S6) is equivalent to the continuous rated output (S3);

Speed characteristics: optimized winding design+efficient cooling, achieving high-speed rotation and rapid acceleration and deceleration, synchronous spindle motor adapted to high-frequency start stop scenarios;

Special models: Hollow shaft models (α iIT-B air-cooled/α iIL-B liquid cooled) support central coolant, while lathe specific models enhance radial load tolerance.

Reliability design:

Protection: Oil sealed structure, waterproof and resistant to cutting fluid erosion;

Mechanical accuracy: Low vibration design, supports direct connection with machine tool spindle.

Usability design:

Installation: After coupling the motor with the spindle, the spindle balance connection can be made at the rear of the motor to simplify debugging.

(3) Servo amplifier

Core functions:

Control capability: high-precision current control, supporting short-term heavy cutting and nanoscale machining;

Safety function: Integrated Safe Torque Off (STO) function, which eliminates the need for external electromagnetic contactors;

Scalability: The multifunctional series supports multiple motor/amplifier drivers and is suitable for large equipment.

Reliability design:

Fault detection: Built in leak detection function to monitor motor insulation degradation;

Energy saving: adopting the latest low loss power devices to reduce energy consumption;

Maintenance: The front side of the fan motor can be easily replaced without disassembling the amplifier.

(4) Supporting module: Power off backup module (MODEL B)

Core function: To protect equipment and workpieces from damage in unstable power supply scenarios;

Key functions: ① Gravity axis drop prevention (standard α iPS-B quickly activates motor braking through power-off detection); ② Deceleration stop (high-speed machine tool feed axis deceleration stop to prevent collision); ③ Tool retraction (synchronous retraction of tools and workpieces in gear machining machines);

Model options: PFB-24, PFB-R, PFB-C+capacitor module.

Core technology and intelligent functions

(1) High precision control technology

SERVO HRV+: a servo control technology that combines hardware and software to achieve nanometer level positioning accuracy. The HRV filter that automatically tracks frequency changes suppresses mechanical resonance and achieves a cutting feed smoothness of 0.2 μ m;

SPINDLE HRV: Fast sampling of current control loop, achieving high gain control and low heat generation during high-speed rotation, supporting spindle nano interpolation, and cooperating with feed axis to achieve nano CNC control;

Servo Learning Control: Used in conjunction with linear motors, turning non cylindrical parts (such as pistons and non spherical lenses) instead of milling shortens the cycle with an error of ≤ 2 μ m.

(2) Intelligent optimization function

Intelligent spindle acceleration and deceleration adjusts the deceleration level based on the inertia of the workpiece/tool to optimize the positioning time. The positioning of large inertial workpieces is only 540ms

(3) Tuning tool: FANUC SERVO GUIDE

Core functions: Integrated testing program generation, parameter setting, data measurement, supporting 3D view of 5-axis machining path deviation;

Advantage features: ① Deviation amplification+color coded display, intuitive positioning problem; ② Tune navigation to automatically optimize gain and filter; ③ Quadrant protrusion automatic tuning, single axis tuning time is only 10 minutes, greatly improving debugging efficiency.


Reliability and Maintenance Design

(1) Fault prevention and prediction

Fault prediction function: Monitor abnormal symptoms of motors, amplifiers, and fan motors to achieve preventive maintenance;

Special testing function: ① Leakage detection (motor insulation resistance monitoring); ② Capacitor inspection (monitoring of the capacitance of the amplifier main circuit); ③ Fan speed detection (amplifier fan speed monitoring); ④ Braking inspection (motor braking status monitoring).

(2) Easy to maintain design

Component replacement: The front side of the amplifier fan can be directly replaced without disassembling the amplifier;

Convenient connection: The servo motor power supply and signal adopt a one click connector, which can be quickly plugged in and out during maintenance, improving the reliability of replacement;

Fault diagnosis: Equipped with 30i MODEL B/0i MODEL F CNC, it provides a fault diagnosis guide, monitoring screen, waveform display, and quickly locates the cause of the alarm;

Encoder communication inspection circuit: Quickly distinguish the source of faults in encoders, feedback cables, and amplifiers to shorten downtime.

(3) Protection and Durability

Protection level: The servo motor can choose IP67 waterproof, and the spindle motor adopts an oil sealed design, both of which can withstand cutting fluid erosion;
