GE Vernova MVAW 11/13/21 type intermediate relay

Product ownership and use: MVAW 11/13/21 is an intermediate relay from Grid Solutions, a subsidiary of GE Vernova. Its core function is to remotely control switchgear and related supporting equipment through long guide wires. It can be adapted to corrosion-resistant negative potential bias devices and is widely used in power systems and industrial remote control scenarios.

Core structural design: Adopting a compact structure with a suction armature, it has high mechanical stability and reliable action; The integrated tubular plug in the coil component is the core design of the relay that does not respond to induced AC voltage, effectively avoiding misoperation caused by AC interference.

Model core difference: The core difference among the three models is the contact reset method, with MVAW 11/21 being a self reset contact and MVAW 13 being a manual reset contact; MVAW11/13 is a single pole relay, MVAW21 is a double pole relay, and a mechanical manual reset action indicator can be optionally installed to facilitate on-site inspection of the relay's working status.

Contact action principle: All models of contacts follow the mechanical action principle of "short terminals break first" to ensure the safety and stability of contact switching.

The typical range of AC suppression is up to 110V AC 50Hz (48/54V relay). Depending on the contact configuration, the AC suppression capability is divided into two levels: 70V/110V

The maximum guiding circuit resistance of 200 Ω is suitable for the resistance characteristics of long guiding wires

The core characteristic of high pull in current ≥ 25mA is suitable for corrosion-resistant negative potential bias devices

Release current ≥ 15mA-

Typical action time of 50ms (4-contact configuration, 48V, 0/200 Ω circuit) varies slightly with the number of contact points

Reset time<35ms, typical value is about 80ms

Contact type and combination

Divided into standard contacts and heavy-duty arc extinguishing contacts (Blow out Contacts), the contact action is defined as: closing (M), disconnecting (B), and arc extinguishing (Z/Y);

Multiple contact combinations are provided, including 4M, 3M1B, 2M2B, 2M2Z, 2B2Z, etc. The MVAW21 (bipolar) is also divided into left-hand and right-hand units, each supporting independent contact combinations to meet diverse control needs.

Correlation between communication inhibition ability and contact configuration

Different contact combinations correspond to different 50Hz AC suppression capabilities, providing a basis for on-site anti-interference selection:

The product has excellent electrical tolerance and complies with EU EMC and product safety related directives, providing assurance for safe operation on industrial sites

Dielectric endurance (compliant with IEC 60255-5:1977)

Between all terminals and the shell ground: 2kV rms, lasting for 1 minute;

Between all terminals of an independent circuit: 2kV rms, lasting for 1 minute;

Both ends of the normally open contact: 1kV rms, lasting for 1 minute.

High voltage impulse withstand (compliant with IEC 60255-5:1977)

Apply 3 positive pulses and 3 negative pulses to all terminals of the same circuit (excluding output contacts) and independent circuits, as well as between all terminals and the shell ground: 5kV peak (1.2/50ms, 0.5J).

High frequency interference tolerance (compliant with IEC 60255-22-1:1988 Class III)

Between independent circuits and between independent circuits and the shell ground: 2.5kV peak;

Between the same circuit terminals (excluding metal contacts): 1.0kV peak.

Shell specifications: MVAW11/13 (single pole) adopts shell 2, MVAW21 (double pole) adopts shell 4;

Protection level: IP50 (dust protection), in compliance with IEC 60529:1989 standard.

Temperature tolerance (in accordance with IEC 60255-6:1998)

Working temperature: -25 ℃~+55 ℃;

Storage/transportation temperature: -25 ℃~+70 ℃, withstand dry heat (IEC 60068-2-2:1974) and low temperature (IEC 60068-2-1:1990) working conditions.

Humidity tolerance: Complies with IEC 60068-2-3:1969 standard, can work continuously for 56 days in an environment with 93% relative humidity and 40 ℃, without condensation effect.

Mechanical vibration: Complies with IEC 60255-21-1:1988 standard, response level 1, excellent anti vibration ability, suitable for complex mechanical environments in industrial sites.
