Triconex Tricon ™  v9–v11 Systems Planning and Installation Guide

The Tricon v9-v11 system is a programmable logic and process controller with Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) architecture launched by Triconex, a subsidiary of Schneider Electric. Its core advantage is high fault tolerance, supporting up to 15 chassis (1 main+14 expansion/remote), 118 I/O/communication modules, and remote I/O module deployment (up to 12 kilometers). It is compatible with multiple protocols such as Modbus and Ethernet, and is equipped with software tools such as TriStation 1131 for program development and monitoring. It is suitable for industrial control, safety critical scenarios (such as emergency shutdown and flame safety), etc. It can operate in harsh industrial environments, supports online hot plugging and maintenance of modules, and has complete diagnostic and alarm functions.

Product positioning: The Tricon v9-v11 system is a high fault-tolerant programmable logic and process controller launched by Triconex (Schneider Electric), with a core architecture of Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR), aimed at ensuring the continuity and safety of industrial control processes.

Core features: It has the ability to resist harsh industrial environments, module online hot plugging and maintenance functions, remote I/O expansion capabilities, and supports multiple communication protocols and third-party system integration.

Applicable scenarios: Emergency Shutdown (ESD), Boiler Flame Safety, Turbine Control, Offshore Fire and Gas Protection, and other safety critical scenarios, as well as general industrial process control.

Environmental and installation requirements

Operating environment: Temperature 0-60 ℃, humidity 5% -95% (non condensing), resistant to Class G3 corrosive environment

Installation specifications:

The chassis is installed vertically, with 13.3cm of reserved heat dissipation space above and below

The distance between the control cable and the power cable is ≥ 20cm, and both ends of the shielding layer are grounded

The remote chassis needs to be connected to the host chassis through the RXM module, and the fiber selection needs to match the distance requirements

Maintenance points: Regularly replace the battery (8-10 years), configure one hot standby module for each type of I/O module, and conduct regular rotation testing
