Overall requirements for equipment installation
Storage requirements: When not powered on, the storage temperature range is * * -20 ℃~+85 ℃ * *;
Installation environment taboos: Do not use near water droplets, corrosive/flammable gases, or flammable materials, and avoid environments with high temperature, high humidity, and excessive dust/iron powder;
Hard installation parameters
Altitude: ≤ 1000m;
Vibration: ≤ 4.9m/s ²;
Internal environment of cabinet: temperature 0~55 ℃ (long-term reliable operation ≤ 45 ℃), humidity ≤ 90% RH, no condensation/freezing;
Installation spacing (ensuring heat dissipation): The parallel installation spacing of servo drives is ≥ 10mm, the vertical spacing is ≥ 50mm, and the distance between the front and other objects is ≥ 30mm;
Installation direction: It must be installed perpendicular to the wall, with the front (digital control panel side) facing outward, and fixed with 2-4 installation holes according to power.
DeviceNet Wiring Core Specification
Wiring is the focus of the manual, including Warning level safety requirements: grounding must comply with national regulations, it is prohibited to connect three-phase power to U/V/W output terminals, and the power/motor terminal screws must be tightened (fire prevention).
CN6 connector specifications: using Phoenix terminal MSTB2.5/5-STF-5.08AU (with flange metal coating), 5-pin pin definitions are as follows:
|Pin | Identification/Code | Detailed Description|
|1 | 0 (24 V) | External communication power supply 0V|
|2 | CAN L | CAN bus low level|
|3 | SHIELD | Connecting cable metal shielding mesh|
|4 | CAN H | CAN bus high level|
|5 | 24V | External communication power supply 24V|
Cable usage requirements
Special DeviceNet thick/thin cables must be used. Thick cables have low signal attenuation and are suitable for long distances, while thin cables are prone to bending and are suitable for short distances;
When using mixed thick/thin cables, the length formula must be satisfied: 500Kbps (L thickness+L thickness ≤ 100m), 250Kbps (L thickness+2.5 × L thickness ≤ 250m), 125Kbps (L thickness+5.0 × L thickness ≤ 500m);
Network length parameter (core number)
|Baud rate (Kbps) | Maximum length of main line (m) | Maximum length of a single branch line (m) | Total length of branch lines (m)|
|500 | Both thick and thin cables are 100 | ≤ 6 | ≤ 39|
|250 | Thick cable 250/Thin cable 100 | ≤ 6 | ≤ 78|
|125 | Thick cable 500/Thin cable 100 | ≤ 6 | ≤ 156|
Network configuration requirements
Both ends of the main line must be connected to terminal resistors (to reduce signal reflection);
Node connection method: T-shaped branch/multi-point branch, can be mixed;
Only DeviceNet devices can be connected to the network, and other devices such as lightning arresters are prohibited from being connected;
Power supply and current carrying capacity
The communication power supply is 24VDC and requires sufficient capacity to be connected to the main line;
Cable current carrying capacity: thick cable ≤ 8A, thin cable ≤ 3A;
Branch line current: I=4.57/L (I is the allowable current A, L is the branch line length m);
Grounding specifications
Shielded wire connected to communication power FG terminal, single point grounding, grounding resistance ≤ 100 Ω;
Prohibit sharing ground with servo drives/frequency converters;
When there are multiple communication power sources, only the power source near the middle of the network should be grounded through a shielded wire, and the rest should not be connected.
EDS file usage
Purpose: It must be installed when using the DeviceNet setting tool for module parameter setting/monitoring;
Model matching: JUSP-NS300 → NS300.eds, JUSP-NS300-E → NS300E.eds

Equipment operation specifications
Trial operation (CAUTION level requirement)
No load test run: The servo motor can only be tested without load, with parameter Pn103 (load inertia) set to 0 (factory default 0, non-zero can easily cause motor oscillation). During testing, check for abnormal vibration, noise, and temperature rise;
Before running with load: it is necessary to set the parameters of the adapted equipment (to prevent overtravel) and deploy a complete emergency stop process (to prevent personal injury);
Normal operation: Do not touch the heat sink of the servo drive to avoid burns.
Inspection and maintenance
Warning level core requirements
Before maintenance, the power must be cut off, and after the power is cut off, wait for at least 5 minutes (to prevent residual charges from causing electric shock);
Do not open the terminal cover when powered on, and do not power on when the terminal cover is open;
CAUTION level requirement: It is prohibited to modify the wiring when powered on to prevent electric shock/personal injury;
Troubleshooting: First refer to the troubleshooting section of the ∑ - II series SGMH/SGDH user manual. If it cannot be resolved, contact the local representative office in Yaskawa.
EMC Directive Compliance Measures (EN50081-2, EN50082-2)
Cable requirements
DeviceNet communication cable: use dedicated cable, refer to section 4.4 for length;
Fully closed-loop encoder cable (CN4): using Morse shielded twisted pair cable, connector 54306-2011, connector housing 54331-0201;
Magnetic core configuration: Use Tokin. Corp.'s ESD-SR-25/ESD-SR-250 (RoHS compliant), wound 2 times, with DeviceNet cable installed near the controller/servo and encoder cable installed near the servo;
Cable clamp: fix the cable shielding layer with conductive metal and ground it, polish the surface of the grounding plate to ensure good grounding;
Wiring requirements: Power off and post a "No Power On" sign before wiring, only operated by electrical professionals.
