Product Overview
The ABB AX400 series is a pH/oxidation-reduction (ORP) analyzer designed specifically for industrial processes, consisting of two models: AX460 (single input) and AX466 (dual input). Its core is used for continuous monitoring and control of the pH value and ORP potential of process fluids. The product has passed EMC certification such as EN61326 and complies with the EN61010-1 safety standard. It has the characteristics of high input impedance (>10 ¹³ Ω), precise measurement, and strong anti-interference ability. It is suitable for harsh industrial environments, supports multiple installation methods and flexible configurations, and is widely used in various industries such as chemical, food and beverage, water treatment, petroleum and petrochemical.

Detailed explanation of core functions
1. Measurement and Calibration
Measurement mode: Supports dual mode switching of pH and ORP, and the dual input model can simultaneously monitor two different parameters (such as one pH+one ORP).
Calibration function:
Calibration methods: automatic single point/two-point calibration, manual single point/two-point calibration, Grab Calibration.
Buffer support: By default, it is compatible with ABB, NIST, DIN, Merck, and US Tech 5 standard buffer solutions, and also supports user-defined buffer solutions (calibrated at 5 temperature points).
Calibration verification: Display slope (40%~105%, low limit configurable) and pH check value (glass electrode optimal 7pH, antimony electrode optimal 0pH), trigger alarm when slope is abnormal.
Temperature compensation: Supports automatic compensation (through temperature sensors such as Pt100) and manual compensation (preset sample temperature), with a configurable compensation coefficient (-0.050~0.020 pH/℃) to ensure measurement accuracy over a wide temperature range.
2. Automatic cleaning function
Control mode: configured through Alarm 3 relay, supporting continuous cleaning or pulse cleaning (1-second on-off cycle).
Configurable parameters:
Cleaning frequency: 15 minutes to 24 hours (starting in increments of 15 minutes and adjusting hourly after 1 hour);
Cleaning duration: 15 seconds to 10 minutes (starting in increments of 15 seconds, adjusted by minute after 1 minute);
Recovery cycle: 0.5-5.0 minutes (increments of 0.5 minutes).
Features: Simulate output during cleaning to maintain pre cleaning values and avoid process fluctuations.
3. Display and operation
Display interface: Dual 5-digit 7-segment LCD backlit display screen, with measurement values/set points displayed above and unit and status information displayed in a 16 character dot matrix below.
Operation mode: 5-key membrane keyboard (menu/left/right scrolling/up/down adjustment), supports quick switching of operation pages, configuration parameters, startup calibration, and cleaning.
Language support: 6 languages including English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, etc., can be switched through parameter configuration.
4. Data recording and security
Log function: It needs to be paired with an optional analog output board to record alarm events (10), error events (5), calibration records (5), power events (2), including timestamps and detailed status.
Security protection
4-digit security code (0000~199999): restricts parameter configuration permissions;
4-digit calibration code (0000~199999): restricts calibration operation permissions;
Fault safety output: Analog output can be set to maintain the original value or switch to the preset default value (0~22mA) when a fault occurs.

Installation and Configuration
1. Installation method
Installation Type Applicable Scenarios Key Specifications
Wall mounted/pipeline installation on-site, with dimensions of 192 × 230 × 94mm near the measuring point, weight of 1kg, and IP66 protection
Panel installation control cabinet integrated installation size 96 × 96 × 162mm, weight 0.6kg, front IP66 protection
Cable connection: Equipped with 7 M20 cable glands (wall mounted), supporting 5-9mm diameter cables, and the maximum distance between the electrode and the analyzer can reach 100m.
Grounding requirements: The casing is equipped with a grounding post, which must be reliably grounded to reduce RFI interference and ensure measurement accuracy.
2. Input configuration
Input type: switchable standard input (without solution grounding rod) and differential input (with solution grounding rod), suitable for different electrode systems.
Electrode compatibility: Supports glass pH electrode, antimony pH electrode, ORP electrode, temperature sensor supports Pt100, Pt1000, Balco 3K three types.
Alarm and output
1. Alarm function
Alarm quantity: Up to 5 relay alarms (standard 3, optional extension to 5).
Alarm configuration: Alarm type (high/low/status/cleaning), trigger point, hysteresis (0-5%), delay (0-60s) can be set, and fail safe mode is supported.
Alarm indication: Front LED indicator light+relay output, synchronously recording alarm events to the log.
2. Analog output
Output channel: 2 standard analog outputs, optional extension to 4 channels, fully isolated design.
Output range: Programmable to 0-10mA, 0-20mA, or 4-20mA, with a maximum load resistance of 750 Ω (at 20mA).
Output allocation: The output can be assigned to any measurement parameter (pH/ORP/temperature), supporting range scaling (zero value and span can be configured).
Maintenance and troubleshooting
Routine maintenance: Regular calibration (recommended 1-3 months based on operating conditions), inspection of electrode contamination, cleaning of analyzer casing.
Common faults:
Temperature sensor error (e.g. "A: FAULTRAY PT100"): Check if the sensor wiring is short circuited/open circuited;
Calibration failure (such as "A: PH CAL FAILED"): Verify the buffer value, check the electrode status, and recalibrate;
No response: Check if the power supply and wiring are correct, and confirm that the security code input is correct.
