Product positioning and core applications
M-2293B is a retrofit adapter panel for the M-2001 series digital on load voltage regulation controller, specifically designed for replacing old GE voltage regulation devices. It can directly replace GE ML-32, VR-1, SM-1/SM-2/SM-2A analog voltage regulation control cabinets without the need to modify cabinet openings or use the two hinge pins of the original cabinet, achieving digital transformation without civil construction and significantly reducing the workload of distribution network voltage regulator renovation. The whole machine adopts full CMOS solid-state circuit, combined with M-2001 to achieve high-precision voltage regulation, which complies with ANSI/IEEE C57.15-1999 standard.
Basic standard hardware functions (panel standard, cannot be omitted)
1. Mechanical transformation adaptation design
The hinge structure is fully compatible with the original GE equipment, reusing two original hinge pins from the factory, and there is no need to modify the cabinet for disassembly and assembly;
Integrated structure, M-2293B panel+M-2001 controller can be disassembled as a whole;
Built in CT secondary short circuit protection: automatically short-circuit the current transformer when unplugging the controller, eliminating the risk of CT open circuit high voltage injury.
2. Standard operating switches and buttons on the front panel
RAISE/OFF/OWER: Local manual up/stop/down tap changer;
AUTO/OFF/MANUAL: automatic/shutdown/local manual mode switching, supporting communication to read gear status (corresponding to M-2001 firmware version);
VOLTAGE SOURCE voltage source switching: INT internal PT/EXT external test power supply, switch to external 120V test source for offline verification;
DRAG HANDS RESET: Reset button for extreme value recording (maximum/minimum voltage);
NEUTRAL neutral position indicator light: It lights up when the regulator is in the middle gear (compatible with GE equipment with neutral circuit).
3. Panel testing supporting components
External test terminals (METER OUT, External POWER) can be connected to a voltmeter and test power supply without dismantling the cabinet;
Three independent fuses: 3A test circuit, 1A voltage sampling, 6A motor power, with built-in backup fuse on the panel;
The complete set of wiring harness dual plug design: one controller power supply signal and one CT dedicated short-circuit circuit.
4. Standard Input/Output Circuit
Two alarm outputs: machine self-test fault normally closed, user programmable alarm normally open;
Automatic voltage regulation locking input, manual lifting drive output of tap changer;
Line LDC current and parallel circulating current dual CT acquisition terminal, compatible with M-0121/M-0169 auxiliary CT conversion to 0.2A secondary signal.
Optional optional features (ordered on demand, available in two panel versions)
1. SCADA CUTOUT local remote lockout switch
Local/remote switching, the local gear can cut off the voltage regulation command issued by the remote SCADA;
Supporting firmware requirements: M-2001C firmware D-0146V08.01.22 and above.
2. SCAMP remote controllable automatic/manual button
Different from ordinary toggle switches, SCADA communication can remotely switch panel AUTO/MANUAL status;
Supporting firmware requirements: M-2001C firmware D-0146V08.05. XX and above.
3. Two stage step-down switch (VR1/OFF/VR2)
Manually input the first and second level voltage reduction capacity locally, and the third level voltage reduction logic is set by the internal software of M-2001.

Electrical performance, safety regulations, and environmental indicators
Voltage resistance and surge protection
All inputs and outputs must withstand a voltage of 1500Vac to ground for 1 minute; Meet the ANSI/IEEE C37.90.1 oscillation and fast pulse surfing surge standards; Capable of radio frequency anti-interference and shielding electromagnetic interference from handheld radios.
temperature and humidity
Working temperature -40 ℃~+85 ℃, with a maximum of 95% no condensation; Spray anti mold coating on PCB.
Voltage regulation accuracy
-Accuracy within the range of 30~+65 ℃ ± 0.3%; Accuracy within the full temperature range of -40~+85 ℃ ± 0.5%.

Wiring and Circuit Core Logic
1. External terminal TB1/TB2 partition
Including: voltage sampling, line current, parallel circulating current, tap changer up and down drive, step-down input, neutral position, gear counting, local/remote lockout, alarm output, 12V dry contact excitation power supply.
2. Description of key dedicated circuits
Non sequential voltage regulation input: powered by panel 12V excitation power supply, external dry contact short circuit can reset voltage regulation delay; The BASE-R simple model does not have this function;
Automatic locking jumper: Removing the built-in jumper can permanently shield the automatic voltage regulation, and it can also be remotely switched with an external 6A contact;
Neutral position DIP S1: Onboard switch selects neutral light logic (ground on/high potential on);
Gear counting input: Passive dry contact trigger, prohibit external voltage, record the number of tap changer actions;
CT safety regulations: It is strictly prohibited to disconnect the CT secondary when the equipment is live. Before disassembling the panel, the CT must be short circuited to avoid high voltage hazards.
3. Rules for voltage reduction logic wiring
TB1-7=primary voltage reduction, TB1-2=secondary voltage reduction, both are short circuited to enable tertiary voltage reduction, and the excitation power is taken from the built-in panel+12V.
Complete installation process
Dismantling the old GE controller: Release the plug and remove the hinge pin shaft (keep it properly);
The M-2001 controller is fixed to the M-2293B panel and connected to a blue V-shaped anti reverse plug harness;
3. Use the original sales axis to install the entire panel back into the cabinet;
4 Wiring harness docking cabinet NN common terminal block;
Switch the 5 panels to manual mode and test the lifting tap changer;
Switch to automatic mode and fully verify the voltage regulation logic and communication function.
Test bench specification (offline verification steps)
1. Testing instrument requirements
0~200mA adjustable phase current source, 90~145Vac adjustable standard source, high-precision true RMS multimeter, stopwatch.
2 Factory default initial setting
Center voltage of 120V, bandwidth of 2V, R/X compensation of 0, upper and lower limits of 105/135V, delay of 5 seconds.
3 sub item testing items
Basic voltage regulation: voltage deviation bandwidth verification, rise and fall indicator light, delayed action;
LDC line voltage drop: verification of positive and negative intervals for resistance and reactance compensation;
3 Parallel circulating current test (BASE-R does not have this function);
External test power supply EXT mode calibration measurement terminal;
Extreme value reset, neutral light, gear counting function;
Upper and lower limit locking, overvoltage fallback logic verification.
