K-WANG

The Control Room Panel (CRP) of the K-Chief 600 Ship Automation System from Kongsberg is an operator panel designed specifically for this system. It features a functional zoning layout and a trackball+button operation method for convenient access and control of the system. It integrates core functions such as alarm indication, status monitoring, command input, and self detection, and is equipped with a protective USB interface and dimmable LED indicator lights. It supports top mounted installation to the control console. The hardware design of the aluminum shell meets the strict environmental and certification standards of the maritime industry, and has clear electrical, dimensional, communication, and other technical specifications, making it suitable for bright working environments such as engine room control rooms.
Core positioning and design principles of the product
Target audience: Designed specifically for the Kongsberg K-Chief 600 ship automation system, it is a dedicated operator panel for the system.
Design objective: To achieve convenient access and operation of the K-Chief 600 system, mainly used in well lit environments such as cabin control rooms, therefore no background lighting design is required.
Installation method: Supports multiple installation methods, mainly installed on the top of the console, fixed by four bolts at the four corners of the panel frame, making installation convenient.
Hardware foundation: It adopts an aluminum shell with a total weight of only 1.3kg, compact structure, and is equipped with a front protective USB interface, which can quickly connect external devices.
Panel layout and core operation methods
Core operating method: By combining the CRP trackball with the accompanying panel buttons, core functions such as cursor positioning, symbol activation, and menu operation on the monitor screen can be achieved.
Layout of four functional zones: The panel is divided into four independent areas according to their functions, each with clear functions and clear operation logic. The specific details are shown in the table below:
|Functional partition | Core configuration | Main functions|
|Alarm area | 3 indicator lights+3 buttons | Indicate, confirm, and handle system alarms and events|
|Panel area | Power indicator light, fault indicator light | Power light (green): It lights up when the power is turned on; Fault light (red): lights up when communication between the panel and the main computer is interrupted|
|Command area | CMD CTRL key+1 key+0 key | CMD CTRL key: Quickly open the command control dialog box; 1/0 key: Efficient start stop pump, valve, compressor|
|Input area | Function keys, numeric keys, alphanumeric keys, cursor control keys | Complete various instructions, character input, and cursor manipulation|
Track Ball Configuration: The mechanical track ball integrates three mouse buttons and a movable ball. The movable ball is used to locate the cursor on the monitor screen, and the mouse buttons enable symbol selection, menu operations, pop-up shortcut key opening, and other functions.
Core hardware and system functions
Built in buzzer: automatically sounds when a new alarm occurs, and also emits a prompt sound in case of power interruption, command control operation, and other events.
Core functions: Covering the entire operation process of the K-Chief 600 system, including convenient navigation of the system interface, alarm/unconfirmed alarm indication, remote mute, and internal self-test with alarm function.
auxiliary configuration
Equipped with dual LED indicator lights for internal and external status, and supporting dimming function;
Reserved I/O interface, which can achieve interface docking with other devices;
The front is equipped with a protective USB connection port, which facilitates quick access of external devices;
Equipped with BIST built-in self-test function, it can perform self check on module temperature and trigger alarms.

Key technical specifications
The electrical, environmental, signal, precision and other technical specifications of the CRP panel are clear and fully meet the operational requirements of the maritime industry. The core specifications are as follows:
Power supply and isolation
Supply voltage: 18 to 32 Vdc, allowing for ± 5% ripple;
Isolation design: The power supply is fully isolated through a DC/DC converter; I/O adopts a dry contact DO/DI chassis as a 0 volt reference.
Power consumption: Rated power consumption of 10 W, maximum power consumption of 20 W (power consumption varies with the device connected to the USB port).
Protection and Environmental Standards
Protection level: IP22;
ENV properties/shock and vibration resistance: both comply with IACS E10 and IEC 60945 standards;
Temperature and humidity: working temperature * * -25 ℃ to+70 ℃; Storage temperature -25 ℃ to+70 ℃ (dry area, humidity about 70%); Maximum relative humidity of 96% (no condensation) * *.
Signal type and accuracy
2-channel relay output (conversion contact, maximum 3A 24Vdc inductive load); 4-channel digital input (dry contacts);
2-channel analog input (0 to 5V, used for dimming); 1 PWM output (used for dimming other devices);
Analog input accuracy: ± 1%.
Communication and Physical Specifications
