Modbus RTU Protocol Support

The CI532 provides native support for Modbus RTU, one of the most widely used serial communication protocols in industrial automation. Modbus RTU uses binary encoding and a cyclic redundancy check for error detection, providing efficient and reliable communication. The module can operate as both a Modbus master and a Modbus slave, depending on the application requirements. As a master, the CI532 initiates Modbus requests to slave devices such as remote I/O modules, drives, and instrumentation, reading input data and writing output data. The module supports all standard Modbus function codes, including reading and writing of coils, discrete inputs, holding registers, and input registers. As a slave, the CI532 responds to Modbus requests from external masters such as SCADA systems, HMIs, or other controllers, providing access to the AC 800M controllers process data. The module can be configured to communicate with up to 32 Modbus RTU devices in master mode, with configurable polling intervals and timeout parameters.

PROFIBUS DP and CANopen Support
