DESCRIPTION
The MBP-PDPMV1 modules are the ideal solution for the many applications where Modbus Plus connectivity can be used to integrate a PROFIBUS DP slave device into a system. The Modbus Plus gateway is a powerful module designed with both Master and Slave support, enabling easy connection to other Modbus devices (Modicon processors and many others). In combination with the PROFIBUS DPV1 device support, the module provides a very powerful interface to the many PROFIBUS slave devices which are in use in the industrial marketplace today. Applications for the module are found in most industries, especially the Manufacturing, Oil and Gas, Electrical Power and Food Processing.
The ProLinx Modbus Plus to PROFIBUS DPV1 Master Gateway creates a powerful connection between devices on a Modbus Plus network and a PROFIBUS slave device. This stand-alone DIN-rail mounted protocol gateway provides one Modbus Plus configurable DB9F port and one PROFIBUS DPV1 Master configurable DB9F port.
The Modbus Plus protocol driver supports both Master and Slave implementations of the protocol on the DB9 Female Modbus Plus port. The Modbus Plus port is fully configurable. The PROFIBUS DP Master protocol driver supports complete Master specifications according to IEC 61158 on either a Mono-Master or Multi-Master network. The module supports the DPV1 specification.
Types of IO modules
·Digital Input/Output Modules
Digital IO modules are used to handle the input and output of binary signals. They can receive and send digital signals and are commonly used to control logic switches, triggers and other digital devices.
·Analogue Input/Output Modules
Analogue IO modules are used to process the input and output of continuous type signals. They can receive and send analogue signals and are typically used to measure and control continuity parameters such as temperature, pressure, voltage, etc.
·Configuration Input/Output Modules
Configuration IO modules combine digital and analogue functionality to handle different types of input and output signals simultaneously. They typically offer greater flexibility and configurability for applications that require multiple signal types.
