Basic Functions
Signal acquisition and output
As an input/output module, it can acquire analogue signals (e.g., 4 - 20mA current signals, 0 - 10V voltage signals) and digital signals (e.g., switching signals) from various sensors on the industrial site, such as temperature sensors, pressure sensors, flow sensors, etc. It can also output control signals from the control system to actuators on the site, such as valves and motors.
At the same time, it can also output the control signals from the control system to the actuators in the field, such as valves, motors, etc., to achieve the control of industrial processes.
Remote Operation Capability
Its ‘Remote Rack’ feature allows it to be installed in locations far from the main control system. In large industrial sites, such as chemical plants, power plants, etc., where field devices may be distributed over a wide area, the RIO22 module can be placed close to the field devices and connected to the main control system via a network or other means of communication, which reduces interference and attenuation during signal transmission.
Technical features
Communication interface
Equipped with a reliable communication interface, it usually supports a variety of industrial communication protocols, such as Profibus, Modbus, Ethernet/IP and so on. These protocols ensure stable, high-speed data transmission between the module and the main control system.
For example, when using Profibus - DP protocol, the data transmission rate can reach 12Mbps, which can meet the high real-time requirements of industrial control applications.
Module Expandability
The module may have a certain degree of expandability. Users can add more I/O modules (e.g. analogue input modules, digital output modules, etc.) to the remote rack according to the actual demand, so as to flexibly expand the number of input/output points of the system.
For example, in an expanding production line, by simply adding the RIO22 module and the corresponding expansion modules, the signal acquisition and control requirements of the new equipment can be met without the need for a large-scale modification of the entire control system.
Reliability and fault tolerance
Adopting industrial-grade electronic components, it has high reliability and can work stably in harsh industrial environments. It may have redundant designs, such as power supply redundancy, communication link redundancy, etc., to prevent a single point of failure from paralysing the whole system.
In power plant applications, even in environments with strong electromagnetic interference and large temperature variations, the RIO22 module can reliably collect key parameters such as generator temperature and pressure, and accurately output control signals to the relevant equipment to ensure the safety and stability of the power generation process.

Chemical industry
In the chemical production process, a large number of on-site parameters need to be accurately controlled. RIO22 modules can collect temperature, pressure, liquid level and other parameters in the reactor and transmit these signals to the control system, which then controls the feed valves, heating or cooling devices and other actuators according to the requirements of the process, ensuring that the chemical reaction is carried out in the best conditions.
Power industry
In power plants, whether thermal or hydroelectric, numerous equipments need to be monitored and controlled. RIO22 modules can be used to collect operating parameters of generators, transformers, turbines and other equipments, and at the same time send control signals to the relevant equipments, e.g. controlling the excitation current of the generator, adjusting the steam intake of the turbine, etc., to ensure the safety and high efficiency of power production.
Manufacturing industry
RIO22 module can be used for automated production line control in automotive manufacturing, machining and other manufacturing fields. It can collect various sensor signals on the production line, such as the position signal of the robot, the wear signal of the tool, etc., and send the control signals to the robot, CNC machine tools and other equipment, so as to realise the automation and intelligence of the production process.
