Functional Features
Alarm information display function
Multi-Channel Alarm Display: It can receive and display alarm information from multiple channels at the same time. These channels can correspond to different equipments, system modules or monitoring points. For example, in a large factory automation system, alarm channels can be set up separately for equipments in different workshops, such as production line equipments, power equipments, environment monitoring equipments, etc. Alarm information of each channel can be clearly displayed on the panel.
Detailed alarm content presentation: For each alarm signal, not only the occurrence of the alarm will be displayed, but also provide detailed alarm content. This includes the type of alarm (e.g. fault alarm, abnormal status alarm, over-limit alarm, etc.), the name or number of the alarmed device, and the alarm time. For example, when a motor over-temperature alarm occurs, the panel displays “Motor XX over-temperature alarm, Occurrence time: XX time XX minutes on XX day, XX month, XX year,” allowing the operator to quickly understand the key information of the alarm.
Visualization and Ease of Operation
Intuitive interface design: Adopting intuitive graphical interface or clear text display makes it easy for the operator to quickly recognize the alarm information. Alarm information may be highlighted by different color indicators (e.g. red for serious alarms, yellow for general alarms), flashing effects or eye-catching text. For example, in a chemical process control system, urgent safety-related alarms (e.g. pressure overrun) are displayed in red flashing text in the most prominent position on the panel.
Convenient operation buttons: The panel is equipped with operation buttons for operators to acknowledge, reset or query detailed information on alarms. The layout of these buttons is ergonomic and easy to operate. For example, when an alarm occurs, the operator can stop the alarm sound and mark the alarm status as viewed by pressing the “Acknowledge” button; the “Reset” button allows the alarm to be restored to its initial state after troubleshooting.
Integration capability with system
Abundant communication interfaces: It is equipped with a variety of communication interfaces, which can be integrated with various industrial automation control systems. It can communicate with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), DCS (Distributed Control System) or other monitoring devices through RS-485, Ethernet and other interfaces to receive alarm information. For example, in an automated production line based on PLC control, the NADS01 panel connects with the PLC through the RS-485 interface to obtain real-time alarm signals from the production line equipment.
Compatible with multiple protocols: It supports common industrial communication protocols, such as Modbus, Profibus, etc., ensuring smooth data exchange with equipment and systems from different manufacturers. This allows it to be flexibly integrated into existing industrial automation system architectures without the need for large-scale modifications to the entire system. For example, in a mixed system with both ABB and other brands of equipment, the NADS01 panel can efficiently receive and display alarm messages from all devices by supporting multiple protocols.
Technical data
Display parameters
Display type and size: typically a liquid crystal display (LCD) or light-emitting diode display (LED), the size of which varies according to the specific model, generally between 3 - 10 inches, can clearly display alarm information.
Display resolution and color: the display resolution can meet the requirements of clearly displaying alarm text and simple graphics, for example, the resolution may reach 320 × 240 pixels or higher. Color display capability can generally support monochrome (e.g. black and white) or color display, color display can better distinguish between different types of alarms by color, such as red for dangerous alarms, green for normal state.
Electrical Parameters
Operating voltage and power consumption: the operating voltage is generally in the range of 12V - 24V direct current (DC), this voltage range matches the common power supply in the industrial field, it is convenient to use the standard industrial power supply for power supply. Power consumption: Under normal operating conditions, power consumption is usually between a few watts and a dozen watts, depending on factors such as display brightness, number of alarm messages and update frequency.
Communication parameters
Communication protocols and interface types: As mentioned before, it supports a variety of communication protocols, such as Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet and so on. The communication interface types include RS-485 interface for Modbus and Profibus communication, and Ethernet interface for Ethernet communication; the communication rate of RS-485 interface is generally between 9600bps - 115200bps, while Ethernet interface can support 10Mbps - 1000Mbps communication rate according to the network configuration.
